Deals with devils

Advice

Ok first some background, and a warning to my group to stay out.

I'm running a way of the wicked campaign. One of my players is running a diabolist character and wanted to make a deal with a devil to acquire the 'devil bound' template.
I'm fine with that and made up some stuff for an interresting sidequest and such.

But this has started the ball running and two more players are into this, one of them even wants to make a deal with a pitfiend.

Now I'm a bit stumped to find some cool things for the characters to do for these creatures.

Especially for the pitfiend. It says that pitfiends are masters in making contracts, and they will ask for some outrageous things in a deal, perfectly knowing that some items will be dropped during negotiations.

I've got some neat ideas, but I would like some more. I really want to hit that player with a boatload of stuff.

For reference, the true name he's tracking down at the moment is Alastor, the executioner of hell.
The tasks I have so far are:
* once a year to sacrifice a good aligned creature of sufficient power (minimum cr15)
* within 365 days of signing the contract destruction of a good aligned powerful magical item of artifact quality
* burning of a good temple within 365 days of signing of the contract
* revoking all monetary wealth
* a vow of silence
These are just some ideas.
Now if any of you would be so kind as to give me some more so I have a nice selection to choose from, and then hit the player with that it would be nice.

How far along WotW are you? What level are the PCs?

Doug M.

We're about halfway book 2. Pc's have cleared the Horn of Abadon and are now prepairing to start the ritual. They're level 8 mechanically.

But in this case

Other things to ask for:

The grace of an angel

The essence of children's tears

a dozen souls in a corrupted iron flask

the confession of an innocent man to a capitol crime he didn't commit

9 of the chaste must be...corrupted by temptation

convince a mother to destroy her own child

unleash a plague of undeath in the heart of a major city

turn a goodly monarch or noble against his people

And my all-time favorite trope...

round up 99 souls who escaped from hell

The above list is of course not exhaustive, but it gives you an idea of how to start.

And since the devil could not possibly let the party go with out some little memento of the wonderful conversation, how about a finger from each PC?

Some nice ones Mark; thanks.

And a cool idea Melvin, but we're talking about an evil party so if I'm to guess I'd say the party would rather let the devil have him then give up a finger for his benefit. :p

Oh no, good sire you miss understood me. I have grown so fond of each and every one of you, I could not bear the thought of your departure with out SOME little token to remember you by. Now, will it be your finger or your head?

Hmm, he's probably going to do that summoning in private.
That would be an awesome time to ask a finger of every partymember. :p
I'm curious how he's going to talk himself out of that.

You sire need help! And I like it!

I know it's probably not my place to question you, but do you really wish to give your player characters devil-bound template? It's not meant for characters, and you might have problems with it later in game.

To add an idea for your question: Nothing beats the old, give me your soul in exchange.

Malag, it fits with the theme of way of the wicked. And it's not that much different from aowing them to get the vampire or lich template. (which is already possible in this ap)

They're going to need to invest time (which they don't have a lot of) and precious recources to actually pull it of; and then there's the tasks that make it even harder.

And their soul, that's already owed to another. Without going into detail to not spoil anything.

Well, I am unfamiliar with that AP, so I have no idea what's possible in it. Just don't forget to scale the encounters up.

Happy gaming
