Looking to start a regular group of players for PFS Online

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The main objective for me being to get to some high level content at some point. It's so difficult to do with pugs, because, by it's nature the highest levels you tend to see are about 5's or 9's without a main group.

So I'd like to propose organizing a group of people who can meet pretty regularly and let's just see how high our little group can get.

I am a very new GM, only have 4 tables of PFS credit under my belt, and a fairly new player as well with about a dozen games played. But I'm eager to learn and have fun, which is what this whole thing is about.

Ideally, I'd like to have one other GM in the group, both to help me grow as GM with some useful feedback, as well as alternate so I can play as well. Or two or three or more GMs!

I'd hate to hammer out the details too much until we get some people together and see what works for everyone. (As far as what the limit of players are, if there will be alternates, etc, etc,). So let's just get an interest check first.

I can do anytime Friday nights (American nights) or all day most Saturday's and Sundays. My most consistently available time to meet up would be Sunday afternoons. I am familiar with Roll20, but would prefer to GM on Fantasy Grounds (no one would have to pay to play with my version of FG). You as a GM may suggest a different VTT. That's fine as long as it's free for the players, we can make it work.

So, let me know what you think below. Tell me:

1. Are you available to play during the weekends?
2. What VTTs are you familiar with?
3. What is your most consistently available time slot?
4. Can you consistently make a bi-monthly meetup?
5. Are you willing to GM? (GMing not required)

New players are definitely welcome and encouraged! The main requirement is being able to meet regularly.

I would be interested in joining. I'm a player not a GM with PF experience but no PFS experience. Please hit me up on skype at aj.camara1 so we can talk, going back and forth on forums can be frustrating. If you don't want to use skype then let me know what messenger/voice program we can use. Interested in Joining 35 yrs in RPG I can DM can play Sun, Mon, Tues & Thurs eves Sat Afternoons

Depending on day I can play. Fridays right now is RL Game, so I would be good for a Sunday game. I have a new character that will be doing his frist sessions next week at the Fantasy Grounds Virtual Con. I have played for 24 years but don't DM sorry.

3/5

1. Available on Weekends
2. Roll20 is really the VTT I've utilized the most
3. Friday nights are probably my most consistently available slot.
4. I can consistently make a bi-monthly meetup
5. I've never GM'd, but I always keep telling myself I will at some point. So if you kick my ass and make me commit, I can try to run a scenario for people :)

I would be interested but I also have never played Table top online before so would need some instruction on how to go about it.

Thank yoy

Thanks everyone for responding. So, it's looking like Sundays are pretty open for most people who responded. I'm thinking we can set up a bi-weekly (I think I said bi-monthly before, but I mean twice a month :P) group on Sunday at around 4PM Eastern Daylight (GMT -4). How does that time work for people?

1. Mortikar (GM)
2. Shatner's Comma
3. A.J.
4. Gypsy King (GM)
5. Ashe
6. silverace99 (possible GM)
7. Garion

That looks like a really solid group. We can definitely accept one more, and if anyone expresses an interest after that, they can fill in if someone decides they can't make it anymore. Or they can jump in when someone is absent if they are okay with the uncertainty.

Anyway, if you guys want to send me an email or some other contact information (I tend to use Skype when I play online) please private message me here with that.

If you can get a headset with a microphone to play to eliminate echoing for people, that would be fantastic. There are cheap ones available.

If you are new to VTT gaming, don't worry, its very simple. Usually it's just a lot of work for the GM.

I do have the module "Crypt of the Everflame" ready to go. This will take our characters straight from level 1 to 2, and takes about 2 sessions to complete (roughly 8 hours). Let me know if you have already done this module and we can figure something else out.

If still a spot open I would love to join, have payed pathfinder/3.5 for years and played Pathfinder society several times

1. Available pretty much anytime right now, but prefer evenings
2. Roll20 really only one have tried
3. see #1 ;)
4. I can consistently make a bi-weekly weeting if not more
5. I've tried GM-ing couple times it never ends well...

Sczarni 2/5

1. Mortikar (GM)
2. Shatner's Comma
3. A.J.
4. Gypsy King (GM)
5. Ashe
6. silverace99 (possible GM)
7. Garion
8. Evan M

This will give us a max table of 7 players and 1 GM. And leaves room for one or two people to miss every now and then and not hold up the entire group.

If you still have interest, let me know. These people have priority but as we confirm meeting times and such, slots may open up.

Well if someone doesn't confirm or changes their mind I would love to play. I usually GM and help new players a lot but rarely can find a game to actually play in.

1. Sadly I currently have a very limited play time. Thursdays or Saturdays between 2pm-10pm.

2. I have only ever used Roll20

3. See #1

4. I would do my best, most likely Yes.

5. Willing to after getting to play a little first, I have a playing itch right now and its been months of GMing for me.

Dark Archive 2/5

1. Are you available to play during the weekends? Yes.
2. What VTTs are you familiar with? Maptools, but I'm open to trying anything.
3. What is your most consistently available time slot? anytime aside from mondays and anytime after 5:00pm mountain time on weekdays. Weekends completely open.
4. Can you consistently make a bi-monthly meetup? Yeah.
5. Are you willing to GM? (GMing not required) In the future I might be up for it.

Sczarni 2/5

Cool guys, I'll let you know if we can fit you in. I haven't heard back from everyone yet, but I'm going to give them a few more days. With the VTT conventions for the next 2 weekends, its unlikely we will have our first meetup until next month.

I can't seem to figure out how to PM you. Where do you go to do that? /stupid

Sczarni 2/5

Click my name and the new page will open up, showing something that says "Private Message" or something.

Or the envelope at the top of the screen next to your name.

It's possible you have your PMs turned off, as there is no option for me to PM you. I'm afraid I can't help you in that case.

1. Are you available to play during the weekends?
Shoot yeah!

2. What VTTs are you familiar with?
Roll20, but open to any, really.

3. What is your most consistently available time slot?
after 7 weeknights, after 12pm on weekends.

4. Can you consistently make a bi-monthly meetup?
Shoot yeah

5. Are you willing to GM? (GMing not required)
I would love to GM, but it has been a few years, and I am still learning my way around PF, but its on my list to do!

Hi all,

I just opened an account yesterday after visiting local game shop. The time is ideal if you can take on another, even as alternate.

So, let me know what you think below. Tell me:

1. Are you available to play during the weekends?
Sundays at 4pm is very good for me

2. What VTTs are you familiar with?
No experience

3. What is your most consistently available time slot?
#1 above

4. Can you consistently make a bi-monthly meetup?
Yes

5. Are you willing to GM? (GMing not required)
Brand new to PFS. So, not yet

Sczarni 2/5

Just keeping you guys updated on the state of this group and it's recruitment. I still have yet to hear from about half of the original 8.

If we are going to get this going soon we need to know who's in the group. So I'm going to open recruitment again and PM everyone who has responded thus far. The first people to respond will be in the group. I'd love to give everyone lots of time to respond, but as it takes so much time to get a scenario ready on a VTT, we need to move forward now.

The confirmed meetup time will be:

Sundays at 4PM Eastern Time
Twice a month
First meetup: Nov 10 (Hopefully)

We will not get started this weekend as it's Fantasy Grounds Con. I encourage everyone to Google that and sign up for a table if there are any open. Hopefully, if we have enough confirmed people by then, we will start the following week.

Please check your PMs regularly so you aren't late on the call to action.

I am highly interested in regular play and am in eastern time zone (gmt-5) as well.

1. Are you available to play during the weekends?
Yes and no. I'm a part timer in a restaurant so I'm typically asked to work one day or the other (usually the evening).

2. What VTTs are you familiar with?
Only roll20 which I enjoy.

3. What is your most consistently available time slot?
The most commonly available times would be: Mon (tentative other games in the works), Tue evenings, Weds, Thu Evening, Fri Evening, and as mentioned Sat/Sun alternatively.

4. Can you consistently make a bi-monthly meetup?
Yes

5. Are you willing to GM? (GMing not required)
I am new to PF so not at the moment.

Grand Lodge

I'm also in the EDT time zone. I can do most evenings, including Friday.

3. Saturday before 4pm

5. I've GMed for over twenty years, but I haven't GMed Pathfinder yet (D&D 3.5 for years, though) and I've never GMed online.
