Domain-granted summon spells and deity alignment

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

If a character is a follower of a deity, and the deity's domains grant spells that would be uncastable by alignment, how would you resolve this? The particular example is Tsukiyo, who grants the darkness domain, which has as its 5th level spell a Summon Monster V which can only be used to summon 1d3 shadows. Summoning shadows is casting an evil spell, and thus is something that Tsukiyo shouldn't be able to grant. Do we have the cleric summon LG shadows? Do we not allow the cleric to prepare/cast the spell?

Where you found such restriction?

Actually, I think summoning Shadows is not an evil spell, because Shadows themselves don't have the Evil subtype.

It would not be a problem because under the summon spell heading the monster has to have the evil subtype.

The Shadow is an undead, but does not have the Evil subtype.

Considering this, the character should be able to summon Shadows.

Additinal question

Another spell in his domain is nightmare (in the night subdomain and darkness domain) which does have the evil subtype as a spell. I was thinking perhaps it was replaced in the book in which he originally appeared.. All I have to go on is champions of purity's inside cover.

Who is the diety in question and what's the diety's alignment? Clerics after all, ARE limited by the one step rule. If the diety is evil, than he can't have a good cleric.

Tsukiyo is LG, so his clerics can't cast (evil) spells.

EDIT: I don't see Nightmare on the Darkness domain spell list.
