Hi, can someone point me to any official rules clarification on the cackle & sleep hex combo? During last night's game, someone intimated that the PAIZO messageboards had nerfed it for being too powerful, but most other sources including various podcasts maintain the combo use is legit. I don't care either way, but if there's been an update, that's what I'm looking for.
Thanks,
Pax

Cackle does not effect sleep.
That should be AFFECT.
Cackle (Su): A witch can cackle madly as a move action. Any creature that is within 30 feet that is under the effects of an agony hex, charm hex, evil eye hex, fortune hex, or misfortune hex caused by the witch has the duration of that hex extended by 1 round.
The sleep hex is not included in the list of hexes that cackle may affect.

I don't think the Slumber Hex was ever included. However, once you hit level 4 or so its pretty irrelevant. 4 rounds is usually the length of an entire combat, so no need to extend it it any further. It'd really just be a waste of your aciton. Further, they can be awakened by a standard action or if they take any damage. The problem with slumber isn't a too short duration, its taking out the enemy before he is awakened. This is why its generally a good idea to use slumber on an enemy adjacent to ally and then have the ally coup-de-grace it.

This combo is not (and, to my knowledge, never has been) a thing, much less nerfed.

There is really no reason for that.
OT: Yes I believe the previous comments are correct.
Though unless this is a one on one fight, I don't find slumber as powerful as everyone claims. All it takes is a standard action, or any form of damage to wake the person.
