Advice

Well, this is my first time in any tabletop RPG and I'm looking for help in making a character. So, if anyone is interested in helping out I would love to talk!

Welcome to the game! Where can we start? Do you know what you'd like to be and what the basic stats mean and all? What other experience do you have?

Got a character sheet handy? This is going to be a great conversation. Hope all goes well and gets you set for your first session!

First time playing, Barbarian would be fun to start with as you can just rage and smash at the beginning, and later on you can get in depth with the roleplay and have others understand why you rage and smash sometime but not all the time. Which will lead to your back ground story.

Combat wise, Barbarian are simply to play for low level encounters. Like wise with role play. Skill wise, you will have more than what those poor fighters have. Race wise, pick human, easy for beginners. Stats, mostly strength, then con. After that, a bit dex and wise. Don't need int and cha but don't dump them too hard.

First Start with A Fighter Type. Do Not Pick a Magic User unless Your Comfortable With Learning Fast and Dirty and Living with the Consequences.
Fighting types such as fighter, barbarian, etc... cut down on muddling a new player with too many rules and is pretty straight forward strategy wise.

Welcome!

I suggest you start easy.

Fighter or Barbarian is a good way to go first.

Also, when it comes to creating a character, steal.

Take a character you love from a book/show/movie/opera/comic, and use that, or pieces of different characters together as a base.

This will make the transition into roleplay easy, and fun.

If have any questions, ask away!
