Rogue / Ranger combination class advice?

Advice

So I asked my DM who is starting a new campaign if we could shift a ranger so I don't use magic or and animal companion. He said it was ok and I just wanna see if you guys think this custom class seems too op.

Ranger BAB: Higher than rogue
Ranger skills -ride -handle animal +acrobatics: Fewer than rogue
Ranger skill points: Lower than rogue
Rogue saves: Lower than Ranger
Rogue special
No ranger spells
Rogue weapon and armor proficiency: Fewer weapons and armors than Ranger
Ranger Hit Die

What do you guys think still balanced?

maybe just take out the animal companion and associated abilites like wild empathy and such for sneak attack and then take out spells for rogue talents but have them be every 3 instead of every 2?

You might want to take a look at Trapper Ranger and Freebooter Ranger

These two archetypes can be combined to make a very good rogue type, with no AC or spells to monkey around with. That could be what you're looking for?

That said, your class sounds a bit underpowered. So it'll be fine. Ranger spells and AC are what puts the class in its powerful state, without those it's just a worse fighter. So yeah it's fine.

All Ranger spells animal companion and ranger feats are removed as wells as ranger combat feats

You could take the Trapper or Skirmisher Ranger archetypes, which gets rid of spells for traps and tricks respectively.

You don't have to have an animal companion, the Ranger ability gives you the option to bond with your party instead.

If you really want to get rid of Hunters Bond, you could take another archetype that does so (Guide, Trophy Hunter, etc). Trapper and Skirmisher both can be taken with every other Ranger archetype (except each other).

Adding Trapper/Skirmisher and another archetype (say, Freebooter) will next you a roguish Ranger that is stronger than what you have here.

Edit: Ninja's everywhere!

Another thought is to not level up Ranger enough to acquire spells or AC. You get spells and AC at 4th level. So take Ranger 3/Rogue 17. Or a PrC. Or Ninja levels. Or Barbarian levels. Just don't take Ranger 4.

Seems like a bad deal. Better off with a Ranger, and take the Skirmisher and Freebooter/Guide archetypes.

You are just trading out way too much for Animal Companion and spells, arguably two of the most powerful features of the Ranger class. You lose Fort saves, (important), weapon and armor proficiencies (important). You are trading down... for a trade down.

Well I gain the sneak attacks and rogue talents and with an acrobatics rogue i remove traps for no check penalty while wearing light armor. I have it all set on paper and really like him I just wanted to make sure this creation would not be op in the group. If i make a flank with another melee in the party ill be doing 2h weapon damage plus x1.5 str plus sneak damage

Its kinda like a rogue with full BAB and fewer skills

You are going to be weaker than a guide/trapper ranger but still playable if your party is not better optimised. You need some additional archetypes in order to be more efficient though. For the classic rogue feel you should take the knifemaster and scout archetypes, for a non-leathal sap user intimidator the scout and thug archetypes. You could alternatively make a scout ninja that dual wield wakizashis or even better fights unarmed with the sap master line of feats. Ninja is stronger than rogue, vanishing trick is king.
