Hey Corsario, just checking in. 40-odd posts since I last checked, wow. Unfortunately I won't be able to add mine until tomorrow. I've been staying at my fella's place for the weekend, and trying to post on an iPad with really dodgy Wi-Fi. I've been trying to catch up on my games all morning, and I left this one for last since I knew it would take the most effort, but now I have to go to my 'real world' game and I've run out of time. >.> I'm sorry, and you're free to GMPC Anton and Sofia if you need to move the game along. (If you decide to do that, Anton's curiosity prompts him to accept the Oracle's offer [though he'd probably consult Edeldhur first, since he trusts him], and he'll swear fealty, though he's sick of the political atmosphere and wants to get it over with.)
Ok, I'll move him forward, and now is in Edeldhur hands to accept the Oracle's proposal or not.

We're heading out of town for the long weekend. DMPC if you wait for me.
I will, thanks for the heads up.

Wearing a ring of sustenance makes Danath the ultimate kind of soldier, he can change up the times he sleeps and be up for nearly 22 hrs a day. He literally appears like he never sleeps to his soldiers. That is unless you have a house rule on how it works but I mean he gets a full 8hr sleeps in 2 hrs and he can be awake up to 22 hrs theoretically.
Just let me know as I will roleplay Danath as such unless I am doing it wrong. :)

EVERYBODY:
The Halfling Cohort of Rupert Surtova, very discreetly, over the night, slips each one of the main characters (not the cohorts) a piece of paper:
"South road, 3 miles outside the city. 2 hours before sunrise. Alone. RS"
You notice we also gives one to Rudolf Ferdinand Aldori III, to Saul Magill and to a member of the Cenobitic Order. You also think he didn't gave a piece of paper to Restov's Mayor Ioseph Sellemius.
I know I skipped the information about Rudolf Ferdinand. Tomorrow I will post what you know about him.
:)

Thanks Ni'Tir... yes, all the "Main" characters got invited, plus the other 3 "leaders" (in case of the Cenobitic Order is "one of them" and in the case of the Oracle's Shadow is Saul, now that Anton and Edelhur declined to be their "liason".

Yes, it is a lot to read... I guess it will become easier when the groups split in the first adventures.
Janus Sevenstar
Glad I finally got the time together to post. I just used Janus' haunted curse as an explanation for why he would be so late; every so often, he has visions that effectively knock him out cold for a few hours. It's why he usually wants to have a trusted ally around at all times.

Ring of sustenance is hard to beat in some circumstances. =/ They have a spell that is similar to it~ Except for the no need for food part. :p

Keep Watch
School enchantment; Level inquisitor 1, magus 1, paladin 1, ranger 1, sorcerer/wizard 1
CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
EFFECT
Range touch
Target one creature touched/2 levels
Duration 8 hours or less; see text
Saving Throw Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistance yes (harmless)
DESCRIPTION
This spell enables the subjects to stand watch or keep vigil throughout the night without any ill effects.
The subjects suffer no fatigue and gain all the usual benefits of a full night's rest.
The subjects gain hit points as though from resting, wizards may prepare their spells as though they had slept for 8 hours, and so on. Effects that rely on actual sleep or dreaming are ineffective, though the subjects are still susceptible to effects that would put them to sleep, such as sleep or deep slumber. Any vigorous activity, including fighting, immediately ends the effect, and the affected creatures must either have the spell cast on them again or sleep for the remaining hours to avoid fatigue and gain the benefits of a full night's rest.

Yeah for Danath he is as Corsario described the General that never stops, seeming to never eat or sleep as he is too driven for such luxuries. Ring of Sustenance helps a lot with that, its always been one of my favorite items, alongside lyre of building, Wall of Stone and Wall of Fire + Permanency for heating several rooms in a stronghold.
Stronghold Builders guide was a seriously awesome 3.X book. Still haven't found much that beats it in the D20 books out there.

Nice explanation, and really glad you are back!

I may swap Edeldhur's Ring of Protection for a Ring of Sustenance - it is simply too good to pass.
Yes, it is really useful

I like the reactions to Rupert's "constitution" proposal so far... To the most liberals it is too strict, and to the most authoritative is too lax. So it is in the center, as it should be. Politics is hard...
Ni'Tir and Chimalma
Ni'Tir is all for it, it sounds like a very open system with checks and balances to those who get too far out of line.
Danath and I have dicussed it and he's pretty much in agreement with me lol!
Although when it comes to the roles in Kingmaker it'll be hard for some of us to fit in the role perfectly (unless it's changed some ;)) Like Marius wants to be the Marshall and yet the marshall relies on dex and wis of which Marius's two stats are only +1. Then Marshall affects only economy stat which doesn't fit the lawmaster. ;)
Now as Royal Enforcer he could use his strength stat, reduce unrest by 1 ever upkeep and his stat would affect loyalty.
So as Marshall we get +1 Economy or Royal Enforcer gets +5 Loyalty and -1 Unrest. Thats the only hiccup I ever had with Kingdom Building rules, although I love the Sandbox way it is presented and I have few other concerns except getting the most out of out roles and both characters and players~

As long as politics lacks political kidnappings and blackmailing and sabotage, it's all good...wait did I just describe Taldor?

Oh yeah your response was enjoyable, you definitely ring true for the mentality of Hellknight. In your face, semi-demanding ( ;) I mean this in a friendly way) and blunt as a hammer in how they believe. Most people just want the platemail, its nice to have a Judge Dread attitude for once as that is more fitting. :D Besides I want everyone to maximize their fun and I seriously believe that Royal Enforcer fits quite well heheh. :) The -1 to unrest per phase especially rings (Don't F- with marius in a Samuel L Jackson way~) to me anyways.
Granted I look forward to Corsario's spin on things and I am getting ahead of myself, so far though all the characters are enjoyable~ If we need some more players I can see who I can get to join this game. :)
Can't wait for my secret and such, so exciting to be in a great game like this~
Venetia Medvyed
I said Marshall, but I'm pretty much just asking to be the law, lol, I couldn't remember which one relied on STR. And I'm glad you liked my response.
Str is Warden, Royal Enforcer, or General. I could see any of these fitting Marius, but Warden has the most law aspect imo, it's description is "The Warden is responsible for enforcing laws in larger settlements, as well as ensuring the safety of the kingdom leaders. The Warden also works with the General to deploy forces to protect settlements and to react to internal threats."
Corsario
|
Yeah, Warden sounds as Marius...
About the start... Yes we are still on the prologue, my way of letting us all know the players and main npc 's, but it is not over yet. The are still some surprises ahead.
Need to work on secrets and plot points too...
Ni'Tir and Chimalma
True I saw the enforcer fitting really well as it inspired Loyalty and decreased unrest(anarchy ;) ) but warden is an excellent pick too~

We're back.
Edeldhur
Well, I have made a point of not reading nothing about Kingmaker except for the player information, so I am not privy to what stats go with which role to be honest.
And I much rather have it like that, and see what the future holds for Edeldhur and Daliedhur.
As far as a unified, transversal, law keeping throughout all the baronies (or whatever we decide they will be), Edeldhur will have a problem with accepting it right off the bat [elven free spirit and all :D] - maybe somewhere further down the road.
Ni'Tir and Chimalma
I've been in three Kingmaker games that burned out right at the kingdom building stage so it was unavoidable for me... ;/
I won't post anything else spoiler-like my bad was just giving mo there.
Danath Orlovsky
Yeah... hence why I usually stay out of Pbp's, kingmaker would be a lot easier around a table setting but alas with our schedule we cant find any group that's willing to wait two weeks for us to get home and play again. :p
I don't care for spoilers as I enjoy reading all the books, I even used the Ultimate Campaign book in making Danath's background believe it or not. Lots and lots of rolling... But it turned out pretty neat for a 7th level guy. Which it should when your that high level.

S@~! just got real! ( T_T)/

lmao!
@Corsario what all Dino and reptile forms are not allowed. As the Saurian shaman stands I can assume the shape of flyers and ground based reptile/dino's so if you have a restriction let me know so I can put it in my character sheet.
Marius Are you giving commands? I looked and saw the basic crunch as I was interested in what a lvl 2 hellknight could do. :D
Kiritta Narvagoth
If we are immediately attacked, then I will have to decide what to do. Otherwise, I will perform a blessing of the Harrow to grant everyone some bonus. It requires 10 minutes.

Not really...

No just playing off his training, he immediately goes into command mode, he's going to have to learn how to work with "equals" ;)
So far you are roleplaying Marius really good
Corsario

Thats ok, Kiritta is exactly the opposite. Organization is not exactly one of her strong suits.
Also roleplaying her very well.
Hope you remember the harrowing.. you all are going to need it... ;)| Ni'Tir and Chimalma |
I'm looking forward to both Danath and Marius having armies...
Oh. I hope they get along well... ( ;o.o)

Sorry I took so long to post... some of your posts got "Obsoleted" by mine :P
On the good news we have at least 11 players posting, so almost everybody is here.
Ready for some combat?
