Does Spell Specialization affect Spell Resistance?

Rules Questions

Question above. Just want to know whether Spell Specialization would affect caster level for overcoming spell resistance, or if it only affects aspects such as extra damage dice, duration and range.

Spell Resistance:
Select one spell of a school for which you have taken the Spell Focus feat. Treat your caster level as being two higher for all level-variable effects of the spell.

For example, I believe Varisian (Mage) Tattoo should count, since it directly references Caster Level without caveats, but does Spell Specialization stack as well?

Mage Tattoo:
Select a school of magic (other than divination) in which you have Spell Focus—you cast spells from this school at +1 caster level.

Personally, I would rule that for those spells specifically affected by those feats yes you would gain the bonus on CL checks to overcome SR.

Looks like it would work against spell resistance, as the attempt to overcome it is a level-variable effect of the spell.

Yes. You use your caster level for the spell.

Absolutely.
