Dragon-themed spells.

Advice

Saw a "Dragon Spells" thread, and thought it was about this.
It inspired me to create it anyway.

What spells would you say are "Dragon related", specifically for a Dragon Disciple.
Energy type doesn't matter, as I have the Elemental Spell for my type anyway.

Also, they don't have to be damage-dealing spells.

Have you checked out the spells in the Kobolds of Golarion?

Forgot to mention.
Core and Advanced Player's only.

Sorry bout that.

This is for a particular character, but not PFS, so anything in those books are good.

Well, assuming your looking for spells that arn't on the dragon bloodline spell list that have a dragon theme, I can come up with four fairly quickly, that suit the dragon's concept.

Snapdragon Fireworks, Dragon's Breath, Dragonic Reservoir, Fire Breath,

What levels are those?

Charm person, suggestion, charm monster.

Dragons are clever and deceptive, not just big brutes.

These are very good.

What about more defensive spells? What's good for them?

That kind of depends on what the dragon is doing, and how powerful it is.

Small dragons use concealment-type spells for ambush hunting.

Really big dragons use anti-magic shell.

They all use mage armor. And any dragon probably has several different spells depending on what it hunts, what it's usual prey is, what its enemies are...

I'm asking for general spells that are dragon-themed. Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I want spells that will "honor" my Dragon Disciples' ancestors.

Which are dragons.

Snapdragon Fireworks is level 1, but it's in Ultimate Magic, so you may not want that one..

Dragonic Reservoir is 3, Dragon's Breath is 4, Fire Breath is 2, and all three are in the APG

Also, Elemental Aura is level 3 and is nice if you close to melee range, for cutting into you foes with your claws and flames (or acid, or cold.. etc)

Defensively, any resist energy spell is fitting to the dragon theme, as are spells that strengthen your skin to hard as rock, like stoneskin. Dragons are also found all across the planes, and sometimes move from one plane to another, so planar adaptation and plane shift are good dragonic theme spells..

Thank you!

Getting some interesting ones....

Also, look at the SLAs of whatever dragon type you're most like.

Never thought about that....

Certain basic spells could be 'dragooned-up' a bit thematically.

Your Dragon Disciple's mage armor might briefly add a colorful scaly appearance to your skin when it's cast (or even maintain that appearance while it's up).

Obscuring mist might pour from your mouth, like a foggy 'breath weapon.' (Bonus points if you recite the Charm of Making, while that happens.)

Charm person and hypnotism already fit a dragon motif, if you go with the supernatural presence schtick, and fear spells like cause fear and scare work well to simulate a dragons 'fearful presence.'

A fire-dragon follower could spit burning hands or fireball from his mouth. Same with other spells, and other energy types, with a black or green dragon descended Disciple hocking forth a glob of corrosive phlegm to cast acid arrow.

My fire dragon-themed Summoner portrays glitterdust as fiery embers in a blinding cloud of hot black smoke, and grease as hot tarry oil burbling up from the ground.

Dragons tend to spot invisible foes quickly, and see clearly in the darkest caverns, so divinations like see invisibility and darkvision work well. They also have a reputation for being able to sniff out treasure, particularly treasure that has been taken from them, and to know when their lairs are being imposed upon, so there's an excuse to know locate object or alarm.

Nice, Set. My Dragon Disciple is descended form a white dragon (cold, I know, is supomtimal. Wish I'd taken black for the acid. Too late! Cold is fun, though. I advise trying it.) and uses Elemental Spell (cold) to get the +1 damage/die from spells.

So, any energy spells are okay too. I can always just change it to match my type.

Well, if your using cold, Rime Spell is a good metamagic feat, to bad it's in ultimate magic but back to the spell theme..

Considering the White Dragon
- Fog Cloud, Gust of Wind, Control Weather and Wall of Ice are all on their special abilities list..

Some other spells for consideration, for ice, you should also consider water and wind spells.. and some spells, like invisibility are somewhat iconic to the concept of the mystical dragon.

Elemental Spells that fit into the theme of cold: Cone of Cold, Detonate, Ice Storm, Freezing Sphere, Polar Ray

Nice!
These are a great help, guys. Thanks!

Keep adding as you find any.

Oh, and certainly don't forget fear :)

We mentioned it's lesser brethren, Cause Fear and Scare.

But Fear should definitely be there.
