I'm preparing the Ascension encounter for my PCs. I'd love to talk about it, but they might be reading this very post for all I know! D:

One of the very few disadvantages of using a transparent identity on Paizo.com!

Spoiler:
One of the "advantages" is that I'm starting to build a reputation of, "That guy who posts in every single topic about kitsune on the bloody forums."

I hold no regrets.

Ascension for the tabletop group will happen probably in a week and a half after they find the Winter Portal. I already know what one player is going to do, so her build won't slow things down. I can work on the others prior to the game I hope. And I've a twist planned. :D

As for the Skype game... I'm going to put them through the Mythic Adventures mini-module to do the Runelords Ascension seeing they've already closed the Runewell already. Technically I suppose I could do something with it again, but I'm interested in running that mini-module.

Hmm. The problem being it might be too much for the players... I've got to think about that.

Haven't gotten the book yet, probably won't use it. Although continuing Razor Coast into the high levels with it after the main campaign concludes is a thought.

No shame! :)

Well, my book is on the way. I think I'll have it Monday.

Personally once Jade Regent is done (months, months down the line) I'd LOVE to run an ongoing Mythic game as my primary (don't burn the GM out on an AP) game.

Sometimes I wonder why people think that wizards casting fireballs and lightning bolts and fighters killing dozens of minions in little more than 10 seconds isn't mythic already.

But well I suppose that's just me.

Its not Mythic in a world like Golarion where magic is pretty well available.

It would be like claiming that people who are able to travel hundreds of miles in a single day are Mythic in the real world. Sure, during 1,000 AD that would be pretty Mythic, but airplanes take all of the Mythic-ness out of that act for us. Wizards (and creatures with spell-like abilities) are common enough in Golarion that its sort of like, "Eh, he's a wizard. Seen it."

There's also the fact that you can be mythic at 1st level, before you can even cast fireball or lightning bolt.

Mythic is more my speed. Too many years of Running/Playing Exalted.

Only ran one session of Mythic. It actually surprised me how well it worked. I found the martial character really excelled. Caster had little boost but weren't over the top. The Combats were really fun. I found I could throw a lot more at the players. Apply Mythic templates to the monster added a new element to the encounter giving the new exciting feel. I'm quite impressed by Mythic. I was kind of expecting just over powered character breezing through things. I found the opposite, the fight became more challenging.

The expanded Marshall is looking deadly as an archer.

I ran a Mythic half-Fiend Gargoyle against my non-Mythic PCs. It went quite well actually - an encounter which probably would have resulted in the monster dying in two rounds went on for four, with the Gargoyle doing some damage against the party. At least until it was stunned by a Rimed Snowball spell! ^^;; It should be interesting seeing how the Mythic Assassin Succubus does against the group; she wasn't able to sneak-attack (someone used Detect Evil) but it will still be an interesting fight.
