Bronze Griffon Figurine Companion Mount?

Advice

Grand Lodge

So I have acquired myself a Bronze Gryphon, go me! This is mostly by default as I am the only person left without any form of ability to fly and the only person with Ride. Sadly however, the reason I have ride is because I’m a Cavalier, which means I also have a horse. Now while I love my horse (who is indeed a killing machine at L10), frankly a Griffon is way more awesome even before we take the stat block into account. Also I have rarely been able to use my horse as we are playing Council of Thieves and this is almost entirely indoors (figurine would be very useful). Lastly, I find having two mounts thematically weak, who has two mount!?

Anyway, remembering that there was the Companion Figurine feat I rushed home to plan my next level to take the griffon as my mount and retire my mighty warhorse to pasture… only to find it wasn’t on the list of viable figurines.

I guess I’m asking for a work around that I can wave under the nose of my DM to justify this as a mount.

Factors:
• It needs to be as in-line with the RAW as it can be (as I have OCD about this)
• Leadership cannot be taken in this campaign as we deem it broken, so cohort is out (however Companion Figurine is the same investment, 1 feat)
• I am currently L10 (Cavalier 6, Pathfinder Chronicler 3, Battle Herald 1… yeah, I know), I do however have the Horse Master feat, which effects ‘mounts’ not simply horses

So, is this even possible? I’m thinking no, but on the off chance it is, hit me! If it isn’t possible, what advice can you give for the best and fairest way to justify it?

Lastly and what I am secretly hoping for is, is that as the Bronze Griffon is basically a creature with no odd abilities it was omitted from the Figurine Companion list as it require no special rules, but however be taken... tell me this is so and save me a lot of trouble :)

99% sure it is in here, its a fun little book. Sadly I think it's omission from the list is entirely deliberate and it's not really permitted.
