Are there any animals with a 90' fly speed?

Rules Questions

I'm playing an 8th-level druid, so my wild shape can count as beast shape III, allowing flight at up to 90' (good). Are there any animals with that speed? I can find various outsiders with fly 90', but so far the fastest flying animal I can find is the eagle at 80' (average).

(Apologies if this should go in the advice subforum!)

Yeah, it should be in the advice forum.

I don't think there are any animals past the eagle. If I'm remembering right in 3.5 the cut off from 'regular' flight to SP/SU flight was either 90 or 120. 'Natural' flight was limited to below that so I'd be surprised to see anything from the 'animal/beast' type getting past that.

I'm pretty sure what the spell means is that if the creature has the ability listed (in this case, Flight), then you get a 90 ft. Fly speed.

EX: You shapeshift into a creature with a 30/60 ft. Fly speed, you get 90.

Conversely, though, even if you turn into a creature with, say 120 ft. (Perfect), you still only get 90 ft. (Good).

From the polymorph subschool descriptions.

Spoiler:
If the form grants a lesser ability of the same type, you gain the lesser ability instead.

Ah. NVM me then.

I think there are some medium magical beasts with that speed, Pegasus and griffon come to mind but they're large and 120ft and 80 ft

The Beast Shape spell gives you a package of stuff to get.

The form you take gives you a fixed subset of said package.

If the form and the spell give different specifications for the same ability, you get the lesser of the two.

Yeah, Samas already clued me in on that caveat from the Polymorph school. As I said, nevermind me, I goofed.

After looking around, I couldn't find an Animal faster than the Eagle.

So, looks like that is the limit, for Animals.

Remember, your Wild Shape works like Beast Form with the caveat that you can only select Animal forms. But the normal Beast Form III also lets you choose Magical Beasts. There are Magical Beasts that fly faster than the Eagle, they just aren't options for you since Wild Shape doesn't allow those forms.

Thanks, folks!

Yeah. It also means I can wild shape into an eagle but not a giant eagle! Ah well, we can't have everything. :)
