Character Help

Advice

So, I'm looking to make a character that uses a polearm and medium to heavy armor, preferably elf or human.

I'm not opposed to using mounts, but as this character is hopefully going to be water-themed, I'd prefer a water-themed mount, if applicable. As far as magic goes, I'm okay with it, but I don't want to make a wizard/sorcerer etc.

A support role would be preferable, as our group currently has a fighter, a barbarian, a cleric and a wizard.

So... I have no idea what class/archetype etc. would fill this role and be effective. I'm willing to bend these specifications to make a character that works well, as the top priority is to contribute.

Any ideas? Thanks for the help in advance.

A Nature Oracle, Aquatic Druid, Shark Shaman Druid, Sohei Monk or a few different Ranger archetypes spring to mind...

Battle or metal oracle, maybe. A nature oracle can't use polearms IIRC. They're martial weapons, aren't they?

Yeah, Battle and Metal occurred to me, but then you have an uphill task to get a good mount
EDIT: Although...Battle Mystery adds Ride as a class skill

He didn't say he particularly wanted a mount. He said he isn't opposed. That's very different from desiring one.

Alright well, I'd like to avoid using an Oracle as possible, as I'm relatively new to Pathfinder and it seems rather complicated.

As far as mounts go, I'm fine with using 1, but it's certainly not a priority, I was simply stating that I'm open to using 1 if it will significantly increase the characters performance.

A Druid seems like it might be a good option, and I'd love to hear some ideas of how that might work.

Also, would a Polearm Master(Fighter) or some form a Cavalier work well for this sort of character?

Thanks for the help. C=
