I'll skip all the rules jargon because we should all know it by now.
The jist is, since metamagic mastery doesn't increase the level of the spell when it's cast could you potentially apply metamagic feats when crafting certain items that have a maximum level restriction, like wands and potions. Essentially maximizing a wand of fireballs for example.
While we're on the topic...
Healer's Blessing.
When a Cleric with Healer's Blessing makes scrolls, potions or wands, are the healing spells she casts into these items considered Empowered as well?
Just a few things our gaming group has been curious of.
Oh, and completely out of context, but one more question:
What are people's thoughts on the Maestro bloodline? Is it worth it since you pretty much are forced to multiclass to take advantage of the lingering performance ability? I've heard mixed opinions, but I'd like to hear what you guys/gals think.

I believe by Metamagic Mastery you're not actually referring to Bard's ability which is called Metamagic Mastery, but instead to Spell Perfection which says:
Spell Perfection
You are unequaled at the casting of one particular spell.
Prerequisites: Spellcraft 15 ranks, at least three metamagic feats.
Benefit: Pick one spell which you have the ability to cast. Whenever you cast that spell you may apply any one metamagic feat you have to that spell without affecting its level or casting time, as long as the total modified level of the spell does not use a spell slot above 9th level. In addition, if you have other feats which allow you to apply a set numerical bonus to any aspect of this spell (such as Spell Focus, Spell Penetration, Weapon Focus [ray], and so on), double the bonus granted by that feat when applied to this spell.
So it only applies to one spell that you can cast. And you can only take the feat once.
As to whether or not this would allow you to make a wand of maximized fireball by the spell used for creation only counting as a 3rd level spell and whether or not it would be priced as a 3rd level spell or not I do not know.
I do know I certainly wouldn't allow it.
Perhaps someone can chime in with a better answer.

Jargon maybe ok to skip, but quoting the feat or ability you're talking about is always helpful. Wording is important, and paraphrasing can lose some nuances. And not everyone knows every ability by heart. In this case, I assume you're talking about the 8th level universalist wizard power.

No, crafting expends the spell without casting it, so you can't use any "on cast" abilities.
The act of brewing triggers the prepared spell, making it unavailable for casting until the character has rested and regained spells. (That is, that spell slot is expended from the caster's currently prepared spells, just as if it had been cast.)
So nothing that affects spells you cast applies to spells expended in crafting.

Just because Lingering Performance is a bonus feat doesn't mean you have to take it. If you multiclass with bard, it's worth picking up. If not, you just pick up other feats.
