Special material ammunition cost clarification

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

Hi all,

I want to buy special material arrows and is not very clear its cost, only adamantine ammunition specifies 60 gp per missile, but no other special materials for weapons: cold iron and alchemical silver where says x2 normal weapon cost and +2gp,

But in the Ultimate Equipment says per item all the amunition special material.

What the two prices are the correct? I suppose the more expensive is more expensive an arrow that a bladed weapon because you need more metal for a single bladed weapon than a 20 arrowhead...

Why not in FAQ if many people don't know?

Thanks for all!!

Sczarni

What materials are you confused about?

Silver Crusade

Cold iron and Alchemical silver.

Sczarni

You already guessed at those. Cold Iron is x2 per missile, and Alchemical Silver is +2gp per missile.

So if you're looking at Cold Iron arrows, a quiver will cost you 2gp, and a quiver of Silver will cost 41gp.

But what if "per item" refers to per item you buy. Meaning per 20 you by.

If this is true, I've overlooked the easiest way in the word to bypass DR X/Cold Iron... That's dirt cheap. I'm gonna go look this up...

Sczarni

It's super cheap, until you decide to enchant it.

Grand Lodge

Of course, you just want to enchant the bow, other than some Bane arrows, if you can afford 50 of them.

Don't forget, if you have the books, that weapon blanch affects 10 arrows. Nothing like cold iron arrows that have been blanched with silver ot adamantine, or even ghost salts.

Ugh, ghost salts. Hardly worth it if you have at least a +1 weapon.

I'll take full damage over half damage any day.

And this is why I love Durable Arrows when I can get them.

Sure, if you can find all of your arrows after outdoor combat with flying fey.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

That is what Followers are for. But even if you do lose a few they are fairly cheap. I mean sheesh 3 for 1 GP + Special Material Cost if you craft them yourself. If you really are worried about price then make your normal bulk Arrows from Stone. 80 Stone Arrows for 1 GP Heck yes. Throw Weapon Blanches on those if necessary.

This, above, is the best, its saved my gunslinger a good amount of cash on spec to order ammo :)

Weapon Blanches?

Cause Stone can't be used for Firearm Ammo last I checked... Or is it one of those loophole things?

Light and one-handed bludgeoning weapons, spears, and arrowheads can all be made of stone.

A bullet is none of those things. No stone bullets for you, caddmus. : D

Well I mostly meant for silver, cold iron and so on, I'll admit for stone arrows, I got nada,

though my musket master does carry a sling as a back up :)

Nothing beats Stone Arrows when you have to track every Arrow. They are literally fire and forget.
