Can animal companions go through feat retraining? I gave my animal companion weapon finnese but by the time he hits his 7th level advancement the feat is redundant (cause then his str is slightly higher then his dex at that point) so my question is: Can my animal companion retain that using the rules from ultimate campaign or is there some other option that can be done to alter the feat?

But why?

If a druid releases her companion from service, she may gain a new one by performing a ceremony requiring 24 uninterrupted hours of prayer in the environment where the new companion typically lives. This ceremony can also replace an animal companion that has perished.

24 hours gives an entirely new animal and better companion... which could be the same one slightly tweaked.

Retraining rules are unnecessary for animal companions.

I don't see why he couldn't retrain, but it would be cheaper and faster just to replace him with another animal companion of the same type and name. Another alternative is just to ask your GM nicely if you can swap out feats.

I'm doing society as well in case that changes thing but if I can just "release and get back" pretty much the same companion that would be fine

Go behind the shed with the old companion and double musket, *BAM*, wait 24 hrs and a brand new companion shows up!

The only limit I know of is the new one has to be from the environment you summon it in.

You would also need to train your new companion. The only tricks it will have are the bonus tricks.

In society its even easier because you don't have a GM whining about it. Also means your GM might never know... or see you again.

What about retraining it for max it's HP?
