It is like saying having a Cold Weather Outfit does nothing against a Ray of Frost.
However, do the DR/Good reduces the enviornmental nonlethal damage?

Damage from cold temperatures is cold damage. Damage from hot temperatures is fire damage.

Cold resistance prevents cold weather damage as it is cold energy. Fire resistance prevents heat damage as it is fire energy.
