Elven Magus Favored Class

Can someone explain to me what it means in the elven magus favored class option "The magus gains 1/6 of a new magus arcana"

It's quite simple. if you dedicate 6 levels to this favored class option, you get an extra magus arcana at the 6th level.

ok need more clarification. my GM point out this text on the dwarvern Magus "Magus: Select one known magus arcana usable only once
per day. The magus adds +1/6 to the number of times it can
be used per day. Once that magus arcana is usable twice per
day, the magus must select a different magus arcana." does this text go for the elven magus also and if so can you explain it a little better?

No... those are entirely different options.

They both take six levels but they yield something different.

For the Dwarf Magus he gets an extra use of a magus arcana that can only be used once a day and that he has already obtained, typically a metamagic arcana. He can only spend six levels on that arcana so the benefit is only obtainable once for said arcana.

The Elven Bonus gets a brand new arcana.

Both of them take six levels each.

pritty simple indeed each takes 6 lvls to obtain one gives you a new arcana th other lets you use a "once per day" arcana twice a day

is pritty hard on the maximize or quicken arcana
