Changeling the Lost Interest Check

Recruitment

Is there anyone interested in running and playing Changeling the Lost via forums? I can't seem to find a local group or an online group, so I figured I'd ask here.

Not sure how many people are familiar with changeling around here.

I would play though. Hopefully this ball will get rolling.

I hope so too. Doesn't seem many places are playing it, at all.

I've never actually played a WoD game before, but have listened to some podcasts by a group that did both a classic Vampires game, as well as a new WoD and am definitely interested in the setting.

The PDfs aint cheap, but I'll grab the Demo for Changeling and look that over, the idea sounds interesting (reminds me of Raymond E. Feist's novel Faerie Tale) so consider me a potential player who remains fairly ignorant of the setting :)

Changeling the Lost is a very dark, sometimes brutal game. The way I've described it is you're basically a magical being whose morality trait is closer to being guided by PTSD than by a normal sense of what's right and wrong.

Mmm, I read through the Demo and that helped. Still not entirely sure what the games would be like, but still interested. If we end up getting a GM and enough players then I'll buy the full PDF and read it properly (or at least enough to make a character :p)

Most games involve some sort of horror from the Hedge or Arcadia either stealing mortals, harassing mortals and changelings alike, or something trying to expose changeling existence. Rpg drive thru has a good example of a game.

Well it's horror game basically. There are plenty of examples of what a game could consist of. Essentially it's just trying to get by as a supernatural being with your identity stolen and your life destroyed, all while trying to avoid getting killed or worse--dragged back to your "Keeper".

Sometimes fae creatures show up and sometimes you try and kill your doppelganger who's been living your life for you, or get involved in political stuff with changeling society.

Me and my girlfriend have been looking for a WoD game for a while now. She's a very experienced player/GM with a bunch of the PdFs. I'm similar to Peanuts: brand new but willing to give it a shot. :-)

I Love C:tL!!!

Will definitely keep an eye on this to see if it goes anywhere & have a number of character ideas.

Full Disclosure:
I've played OWoD & NWoD pretty much since each has come out. NWoD, Changeling is likely my favorite venue though Promethean and Wraith each come a close second & I have all the source material for C:tL with the exception of Swords at Dawn.
I have no real interest in ST'ing but if there are at least three or four players & no ST volunteers I might be able.

Well, that looks like enough players, just need someone to run it :p

Hi Peanuts!

Was that a hint?

Maaaayyyybe :p That or we hang around for a little while longer to see if we attract someone else.

I will never not sign up for world of darkness games.

I've been tracking mostly nWoD for a goodly while, and have played in quite a few games. (Including one entirely homebrew system. To give you an idea of my friends.)

I'm quite eager to play, and hell, I'd even be willing to be the ST. I haven't had massive experience ST-ing in WoD, but I have GM'd elsewhere in other bizarre games. If you'd prefer a more experienced ST though, I'm happy to just play.

Definitely a lot of interest! Yay!

Guess I should buy that book then :)

Absolutely worth the buy. :)

Sczarni

i own all the WoD books and changling by far is my favorite, I would be interested in playing either a Changling campaign or maybe a monster mash of all the books...which i have seen done with surprising success and has great ways to build a story around one another.

I would be interested, though I have not played C:tL as of yet. I do own the book and I used to play C:tD in the classic WoD, and have played VtR for the new WoD before.

More than enough players! Book bought, though haven't started reading yet.

So, Communist and Irnk, who's going to be our ST? :)

Mhmm! Which one of these intrepid monsters will lead us to more pain, sorrow, and emotional harvesting? :)

If you want it, Irnk, then by all means chime in, otherwise I will do the villainous thing and begin assuming direct control .

So if you're happy to I don't think she's going to fight ya too hard :)

I played M:tG for the first time in a long time tonight, so will look the rules over and at character concepts tomorrow.

Woohoo! We have an ST! Assuming direct control? We have harbingers AND changelings?! So THAT's what they are! It all makes sense now! ^_^

In that case, I await your Character Creation guidelines with bated breath.

Hmmm, the character that's brewing in my head I could totally see become a serial killer. Am I doing it right yet? :p

Just remember, the Keepers are the true monsters. We're the recovering ones.

*waits (im)patiently for Communist and/or additional info*

I'm here and interested. I think I could have a character ready pretty quickly. There was one I always wanted to play but never got to, He was basically the main character of the movie Insomnia, up until he was taken to Arcadia and turned into a dragon. . .I never did quite figure out what court he would fit in best with though.

:) I'm very good with helping out in the area of deciding on courts, if you need advice.

Thread is up!

Ooh. I'm a fan of C:tL, although I haven't played it in White Wolf's system (done a bunch in other systems). If there's room for one more, I'm interested.

Room could be an interesting one; I'm still working on what party size to go for. On top of that a personal friend has expressed interest, but at least I can be rude to him! (In telling him we may or may not be full.)

I would love to have you in, Umbral Reaver, but it depends entirely on how many of these people follow through with their interest. I don't want to give you false hope, but by the same token check back on the thread in a week or so, and if the expressions to sign-ups aren't 1 to 1, I'll gladly have you in.

Fair enough.

If you're still around, please do come on in and sign up now, Umbral Reaver.
