Cool gear for a level 5-7 bard?

Advice

looking for cool gear to drop for a level 5-7 bard. I'm the DM. looking more for ideas for magic gear that lets him do fun things than simply +2 to some stat.

Used to be an item called spellstrings, were like spell storing items for a string instrument.

Also possible to use the same idea to grant bardic music masterpieces, give him some options that use his bard performance rounds, but are separate and by the devs statements, both stack and can be used simultaneously with bard performances, provided you can keep up with the cost of both.

What kind of bard is he? What does he do? An Arcane Duelist, and a normal bard, and a Dirge Bard would all have different ideas of "cool" I think.

a dancing, singing, normal bard.

Shadow Lodge

I've got an archaeologist around this level and I'm having the same issue.

There's a Page of Spell Knowledge which isn't bad at all for any spontaneous caster to add some spells to the list.

For archaeologist I'm after support-style items rather than spell focused ones, if possible.

I mean, is he focused on buffing? Does he use a lot of enchantments? The idea of cool stuff is one of two things normally. Enhancing a characters strengths, or giving them more options.

Post an overview/character build. Give us a list of his normal tactics in typical encounters, and people can help you more.

Runestones of power. Like pearls of power, but you can use them. Aaand they work great for you.

In my group's current game, I'm playing a Bard. Level 4 right now. I'm presently saving up my cast so I can get a Circle of Persuasion. +3 to all Charisma based checks for a Bard is awesome. Granted, it doesn't help my spellcasting at all, but I rely more on my perform checks anyways. Espcially with versatile performance giving me so much variety.

TGMaxMaxer: he's a buffing bard.

Hmm, until I saw buffer, I was thinking a meta magic rod of bouncing since so many spells on his list have only one target. What kind of weapon does he use? If its a bow, bracers of falcons aim are awesome.

Cloak of fiery vanishing?
Cape of the mountebank might be to expensive.

flagbearer is a good feat, and then you can then get really cool flag later on from UE to give more buffing benefits.

Hat of Disguise

Enough scrolls of Disguise other to affect the whole group

Scrolls of Sculpt Sound and Invisibility Sphere

A whole selection of things to use with UMD. Low level standouts include Entangle, Faerie Fire, and Bless Weapon.

Pages of spell knowledge for other spells known, so he can buff but still have other options.

An item from 3.x that I loved and did not make the transfer to PF was a Wand Bracer. Took bracer slot, loaded wands into it (up to 4) took x charges off of wand to load them (i think it was 5 or so, and if you took one out you had to pay that cost if you loaded it back again) and then you could use the wands without having to draw each one. It was around 5k, and made buff/utility spells fantastically easy to keep up with.

Not so good for pure casters as it took the bracers of armor slot, but gish characters loved it.

Courageous Weapon for the win!

The only morale boni bards produce are from enchantment spells and the saves vs fear on inspire courage. The former aren't running frequently enough to justify the item. The latter is so weak most people forget it's there.
