Raise dead says you cannot use raise dead to bring someone back to life if they have been turned into undead. What about if they were turned then destroyed? Is the ban still in place?
Yup. Raise Dead won't do it, even if the undead version of the person has been destroyed. It's more obvious if you look to Resurrection, which says:
You can resurrect someone ... who has been turned into an undead creature and then destroyed.
Resurrection, the more powerful spell, can do it because it specifically says it can. Raise Dead doesn't include that language, so it cannot.
