Painful Smite, from the Torture subdomain
I cast a spell allowing me to make a melee touch attack. Would I be able to use Painful Smite, converting all the damage (if any) to non-lethal and making a free intimidate check? Or is it strictly restricted to attacks with weapons?
If you cast a spell that has a melee touch attack that deals damage, and you converted all damage to non-lethal from whatever type it was then I would say that you can make an intimidate to demoralize them as a free action with a bonus as the ability describes.
The ability only says melee attack, nothing about using weapons or not so I would think you're in the clear. But remember the spell must be melee not ranged, and it must deal damage on its own that gets converted to non-lethal. It can't be a non-damaging spell that using a melee touch attack to deliver a status effect.
