Sunder damage with Merciful?

I doubt this will work, but I wanted to check here, If I have a merciful weapon, do I get to add the bonus 1d6 when sundering?

Only if the merciful quality is "turned off." The weapon then does lethal damage but doesn't get the bonus +1d6. When merciful is "on," the weapon can't hurt objects (or creatures immune to nonlethal damage) at all.

So no pinatas.
