Jade Regent Books

Advice

Ok,
So, I feel like I ought to know this, given how much I'm on the boards. But I've never monkeyed around with the adventure paths. However, my GM on Sundays is in a really sucky position at work, and is having issues with time to prepare for games. So she's decided to try an Adventure Path (I'm guessing you can guess which one from the title).

She's got part 1 and part 2 of Jade Regent, and she's got the map pack for it. However, the Golarion Game World book was not in stock at the FLGS. I went out and looked, and the only one I can find that seems to be it is the Campaign Setting, but it's the 3.5 one, and used, not new. Is this the correct book? Does it have everything you need in addition to the AP's? Or is it all self contained in the AP's and we don't need for her to have the setting book?

So I guess the question is, what resources should we look at buying (either PDF or printed copy) to get the minimum we need for her to be able to run the AP?

As I am currently running Jade Regent I can say that the vast majority of the information you need is in the AP. the second book, for instance (not doing any spoilers) is 100 pages. Only about half of that is the actual AP. a gods 10-20 pages gives extreme detail about the city the PCs are in for the book.

Thanks

What Kiinyan said, while the inner sea world guide can be helpful for the first two parts of the AP (and very very little for the latter) it isn't in any way needed.

I did pick up the Dragon Empires Primer PDF, that looks like it will help.

For campaign info, the following books are helpful for Jade Regent:

Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Dragon Empires Gazetteer
Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Lands of the Linnorm Kings
Pathfinder Player Companion: Varisia, Birthplace of Legends

For Sandpoint, there's a lot of useful information in the appendix of Rise of the Runelords: Anniversary Edition.

For tracking the caravan's progress, I did use the section in the Inner Sea World Guide having to do with time/months, and actually printed a 'Golarion calendar' (a template with the months and days changed) to keep track of how long the journey takes. To be honest, there isn't a lot of info in the Inner Sea World Guide that you're going to absolutely need to run Jade Regent. Hope this helps.

I'll let the GM know, I'm just a player in this one. :)

The Free Game Day module, We Be Goblins acts as a minor prequel to the Jade Regent. There's nothing critical in there, but it's a fun little one-off adventure that helps set up the AP.
