Howdy everyone,
I was pondering on creating on a race of a tiefling. I wanted to find out the humon part of the tiefling be other race mix like a Drow. Like for other a drawf, Half-Orc, elf and so on. I would like to use the drow as the other half of the tiefling. How would this work.
I have older character in 2nd Ed. As a half tiefling Drow.

Tieflings can in fact have different humanoid halves, but this doesn't really impact their abilities much. You can, of course, assign different variant tiefling abilities to a tiefling/drow or whatever. Blood of Fiends actually talks a little about this (see page 4).
But yeah; most tieflings are part human.

On page 4 of blood of fiends you'll find that when fiends and non-humans mate their offspring are still only tieflings, any other changes tend to cosmetic only. On the other hand the same book has a number of alternatives for bloodlines such as the difference between a demonic and infernal descendant.
Talk to your GM though, he may allow for a more extreme transformation, the half-fiend template on top of a drow character is a good example, you could start as a level 0 character maybe that way.

Non-Human Tiefling in book Blood of Fiends page 4
The creature of the depths of the outer planes do not limit their foul miscegenation to humanity. Elves, Dwarves, Halfling, and gnomes all have tales of tieflings in their histories, and those who appear among them now often suffer even greater stigma than those born to humans.
Other humanoids see tieflings in their midst as well. Many of the monstrous races of the world have demonic origins most notably gnolls, who still thank the mother of monsters for their birth. Ogres, orcs, half-orcs, goblins, and other creatures that call upon the powers of the evil Outer Planes are equally likely to see tieflings living among them, but unless a given race holds to code of racial purity, tieflings are far less likely to be shunned by such populations...
In game terms, the difference between non-human tieflings and human tieflings is purely a matter of size. Unless they have specific tiefling-related size modifiers, the tieflings of each of these races are the same size as their non-fiendish ancestors. They gain any of the bonuses or penalties related to that size, but gain no racial bonuses except those of the tiefling; beyond size, their humanoid ancestry is purely cosmetic.
So I was thinking Demon-Spawn or Div-Spawn Tiefling, Drow

Or
Div Modifiers (+2DEX, +2CHA, -2INT)

Seems like almost everything that's a blurring of racial lines is part human.
Hey, maybe that's another, very well-hidden racial ability. We'm seductive!
This concept has always irked me.
So I gave it an outright reasoning in my home campaign!
This is why humans can breed with all races (all races, technically, came from humans). It is also why humans can achieve such great power with such a short life span (the potential already exist within them). It is also why most races look down on humans (they "showed up" long after the race, elves, dwarves, etc had already established dominion over most of the world).
Just how I chose to interpret things for my home campaign
Of course the chosen of the Gods would be the most seductive!
