Hey guys, so I have an idea to make a spirit Totem Rage Prophet. My goal is to have the character be a Suli. With the release of the Occult mystery, it definitely caught my eye for this character.
My question is how do make a spirit totem rage prophet viable? If Occult doesn't work for the build to make it a decent fighter, then I Dark Tapestry, Battle and Metal all would work as well.
Any suggestions?

I was working on an Elven Metal oracle with Elven curved blade, with something like urban barbarian you could really max the dex. keep I high charisma for spirit totem. lead bleades, hi crit.
I would say that having a polearm is great for the 2nd totem in the chain, but using that and say pushing assault kind of defeats the purpose of the first totem.

Yeah I'd definitely go lame if I were you too. I suppose if you really wanted the haunted flavour you could dual curse for it, pick up the misfortune revelation as some malevolent spirit effect and then choose to advance lame. Haunted does add some nice spells but you get a lot of similar things from rage prophet bonus spells I think.
What is it you like about the occult mystery so much? Is it mostly for flavour? Phantom Touch is nice, I suppose spending a feat on Shroud of Retribution later might be an option, and being incorporeal is always fun with Spirit Walk. If not going the dual cursed misfortune route then you'd get, speak with dead or augury/divination as spell-like abilities?

Hmmm, I've built Rage Prophets before, but I've always ended up going with the following mentality for the character: Half-Orc version of the Southpark Russel Crowe. Just because it's funny.
But really, the level scheme I've followed is along the lines of the following: Armored Hulk/Oracle of Battle/Metal.
I take Armored Hulk because it grants heavy armor and some good bonuses for heavy armor abilities, then I take either Metal or Battle. Battle is good for Sunder and regaining rage that way as well as initiative rolls, etc, while Metal is good for getting stuck in quickly and its good for stuff outside of fighting.
Battle is for pure combat, while metal isn't as good in combat but allows you to do stuff outside of it that can be fun.
Armored Hulk 6/Oracle of Battle (lets say Battle for now) 4
Then 10 in rage prophet. I prefer half-orc vs other races because of their leveling bonus to rage. Give them traits that help with armor or keeping morale around longer (Gambler and Armor Expert), and then start up with rage powers like Reckless Abandon and Powerful Blow. You'll want Power attack as a feat, etc to keep up damage. But I'll be honest, most of your feats will be geared towards getting more rage powers and oracle revelations, both of which are insanely powerful.
By level 6, you should be able to rage for 18 rounds. When you take battle oracle, you'll want to take as one of your revelations the maneuver mastery and take Sunder. You want Destroyer's Blessing, and then you can regain rage by breaking things, which is awesome because this guy won't get alot of rage.
One of the Rage power trees that I think IS undervalued is Spirit Totem. It's great for crowd control at higher levels, herding, and in general whittling away at enemies. Plus, it uses Charisma as a damage modifier which is what the Oracle is ALL about.
Plus, with Armored Hulk, by 5th level, you'll have +10 to movement with heavy armor, which ain't bad.
With Battle, you'll want that weapon specialization as well. It will improve your abilities with one weapon, and if you're using something with a high crit range like a falchion, you'll be getting weapon focus, improved crit, and greater weapon focus with it for the cost of one revelation. What's not to like?
