I'm looking to make a character based around shield and a trip reach weapon.
Actually, I do alot of mini building and made one that uses a chaos knight's polearm and shield in heavy plate. So I'd like to make a representative toon. The group I play with can use a typical tank style so I'd like to float this idea to see if it passes society rules muster.
I'm not looking to do the best dps, just enough to keep me attractive yet manage some battlefield control with a high AC. I don't have any high level PFS experience so looking for advice, especially after lvl 7 on items or feats. Our group has most of the base books and I'll snag the Classic Horrors for the Fauchard.
The concept is to build to magic mithral full plate (lvl 9) [+9 AC +4 dex], skill up acrobatics to have a 30+ AC with a 40 move and only a -1 acp. Be able to help our rogues with flanks and our paladin for front line control. I like the roleplay aspect of clouded vision (we'll see how it goes). The shield (Bashing) and intimating glare would be used for tight opponents that I can't move from and forced to Rage. The lead blades helps to mitigate the -2 for Jutongrip at lvl 2. It's not spell focused, just for buffs. I'd really be surprised if I ever got to lvl 12, so no real future after that. Through level 9, I'd be wearing a breastplate and heavy shield. Skills to focus on are acrobatics, perception, intimidate, UMD and a little in each class knowledge.
Essentially a a Barbarian / Oracle build

Looks good, but I think Phalanx Fighter might be a better fit for your concept. You'll get more feats to offset the Fauchard feat Tax, although you'll have to take three levels of fighter vs two of Barbarian. I just feel the feats for fighter will be more useful than the very limited rage rounds you'll have from barbarian, and Phalanx Fighting doesn't have the to-hit penalties that Jotungrip does.

If this is for the Pathfinder society I don't think you'll want to tank your wisdom like that. Will saves are nasty things to fail.
Protection from evil, from possibly your wayfinder and clear crystal spindle, seems to solve this problem pretty regularly.
Edit: Phalanx Fighter was my assumption when I read the thread title as well.

I will 2nd Phalanx fighter seems to be more appropriate for what you're trying to do than barbarian. Barbarian is super worth it if you're willing to stick around for 10 level to get Greater Beast Totem and some other rage powers along the way, but the limited duration of rage that you'd have will make those class levels not as good as levels in fighter.

Not against a lot of effects and not against any opponent whose not evil... :(
Right it isn't 100%, but it seems to help in the worst of situations. Mind Affecting is among the worst things that make you make will saves, and most of the things that do it are evil in PFS.
If I were really trying to hit certain other landmarks on stats, I think it a reasonable way to mitigate the low Will Save.

I had not seen the phalanx options before.
I will see how that builds...just one level later Oracle however I don't need the Skill at Arms revelation and I get a few extra feats earlier that will only help with the lower levels.
Thanks all !
I took indominable will to recover 1 lost Will. I could even take a feat to bump will more before the Oracle levels kick in for added will saves if that poses a problem...soo many feats now...what to choose...indeed.

If you're willing to do a Half-elf instead of a human, you can take the Ancestral Arms racial trait. That will save you the Exotic Weapon proficiency feat.
Also, if you're mainly looking at Oracle for buffs, you could look at Ranger instead. Lead Blades is a ranger spell, and rangers get full BAB, buttload of skill points, and bonus combat feats they don't have to qualify for (I know there's a Shield combat style, not sure about polearms.)

I did consider Ranger however the Heavy Armor plan didn't seem to fit.
The Phalanx fighter fits very well into my imagined product.
Oracle of metal gets Lead blades at lvl 2 and Oracle isn't that far behind on BAB compared to other caster classes, and as a human with the 13 Int, I'm still getting 6 skill points per level.
This latest character focus isn't based upon Rage...I believed I needed the Barbarian for the one hand polearm ability, which phalanx addresses.
Oracle just seems to be a cool option to blend in some spell effects without too much primary loss. I also really like the roleplay options it brings...I originally wanted to make a 40k style servant of khorne, using barbarian / oracle, clouded vision (everything is Red), heavy armor and lots of metal. The wild rager would have been perfect, but it's not allowed in society play (I see why though). The roleplay aspect is important for me, I'm just trying to maximize my contribution with the theme.
Any non standard (magic) items out there that fit this theme?
magic mithral armor and shield (bashing ability)
variety of weapon properties
Cloak of resistance
..
again, I'm not too familiar with PFS over level 5.
thanx

If you don't mind limited spellcasting, I'd recommend 3-5 levels of fighter (phalanx soldier) and 7-9 levels of ranger (weapon and shield combat style). 3rd level in phalanx soldier is the minimum for Phalanx Fighting ("use any polearm or spear... as a one-handed weapon"); 4th level gives a bonus feat; 5th level gives Ready Pike ("ready a weapon with the brace property as an immediate action" 1/day). Ranger combat style gives Shield Slam and Shield Master without needing to meet all the prerequisites; the spell lead blades is extremely useful, as well (not to mention cure light wounds, longstrider, barkskin, etc.; don't forget rangers can use wands). Mithral full plate counts as medium armor for everything except proficiency, so your ranger combat style feats are still applicable.
I'd also recommend picking up Quick Draw and a +X bashing mithral quickdraw shield, so that you can switch between polearm using two hands, polearm and shield, ranged weapon use (javelins?), and spellcasting easily. Pairing Shield Slam (and possibly Bashing Finish) with an impact weapon (bardiche?) can be a nasty one-two combo (RAW, you can use a 5-foot step once per round between the triggering attack and the shield bash, unless you've already moved your full distance), especially using Shield Slam to bull rush opponents into polearm reach distance when under the effect of enlarge person ("I'm inside the reach of his polearm!" <smash> "No, you're not." <makes the rest of his iterative attacks>); impact and lead blades don't stack, however.
