How many Fiery Shurikens i can have simultaneously?

There is no theoretical limit on how many you could have, although with a level/round duration and a limit of 8 per casting the DM might rule that at a certain point there are too many shurikens flying around your head for more to fit.

Or at least too many to leave room for your head.

You call forth two fiery projectiles resembling shuriken, plus one more for every two caster levels beyond 3rd (to a maximum of eight shuriken at 15th level)

So a maximum of 8 shuriken at 15th level. What's the confusion?

Multiple Castings? I would still think however many you have spell slots for.

I suppose you're right. I'm not sure I understand why you'd want to though, coolest looking hat at the party?

Ok, let's complicate

the spell says "you can spend a swift action to launch on of these remaining shuriken or a standard action to launch ANY NUMBER of these remaining shuiken. "

If i cast the spell 5 times i will have 40 shuriken...i can throw all of then with a standard action?

Taking a closer look...I guess you could have about...160 out without using some kind of metamagic to extend the spell length. This is because you can get 8 per casting, and it lasts for 1 round/level. So that would be a maximum of 20 rounds with the spell unaltered, which translates to 20 castings before your first spell runs out, and new castings just replace the old.

I might be a bit off with the action economy, so give or take a round. Also, if you are going to use a standard action to launch them (and your last spell is not quickened) then that would be 19 castings for 152 shuriken. Again, extended spells and quickened spells can raise this number by quite a bit.

So the real question comes down to this: would the standard action launch all the shuriken from multiple castings, or just one casting at a time?

It is pretty clear the standard action just launches all of them from one casting. It's a special action you can take in regards to all the remaining shuriken of one casting afterall. "Any number of THESE remaining shuriken".
