Yellowdingo Art Poster

I get annoyed with my efforts at drawing rather quickly, so I don't produce anything I'd show anyone.

Silver Crusade

Yes I do. Again.

I suck at drawing, painting, and the like but have taken to using 3d programs (DAZ, because for me it is easier to use than Poser) to make character portraits, art, and the like.

Same here, and I have no time to practice so that fact isn't going to change any time soon.

I don't but we have a guy in our game group who is a fantastic artist. He can whip out a great sketch in about 10-15 minutes. He takes care of all of our needs - he looks at it as practice and has no issues doing so.

That's some cool stuff, Dingo.

I can't do much when it comes to proper drawing, but I do often make maps; I'm no expert, but I truly love drawing them:

Klaus' Cartographic Shenanigans

On the good side, one of my players and literally my oldest friend (we've been friends since we were 4 years old) is a fantastic artist and often makes drawings of the party. We're also working together on a couple of Pathfinder manuals I hope to publish soon, and he's been doing an awesome job with the covers and inside art.

I totally suck at anything artistic. My efforts have been compared to kindergarten crayon creations.

But, to answer your question, yes, I draw my own art. I just have to work very, very hard to make anything look halfway decent.

Slight Derail:
I don't suppose he'd be interested in a bit more "practice" from online? ;)

Ditto that, I can make maps, but drawing characters and creatures is a skill that eludes me.

Incidentally, those are some great-looking maps, Klaus, you should share some of your techniques over in this mapping thread. :)

Sovereign Court

Yes.

I can verify that Jess does her own art. I just haven't mustered up the nerve to ask her if she would draw some of my characters. Maybe some day I will get the courage to ask.

Lol!

Look for some art in this issue of Wayfinder. I'm proud of the work I did this time. Still trying to make the leap to digital art...

I can find out. I know when he does stuff for us, he just grabs a pen and some printer paper, does one rough then the final. I know he does this for friends for free, but he might want money for outside his circle. I sell art of his (paintings and posters) on eBay for him, and have paypal. We aren't gaming this week (We game on Thursdays, and this week being the 4th....) but I'll see if he wants to.

Here are some links some of my current Pathfinder Characters:

A Kobold Sorcerer/Wizard

A Tattooed Barbarian

A yuxia 1/2 elf

a Monk/sorc (with spells being "chi")

Ooh, thank you very much!

I'll check that there topic right away. I find great fun in checking other people's maps. Much appreciated.

Sovereign Court

Mostly maps and drawings of fortresses.

All I've ever had are pencils, pens, and pencil crayons. I actually started trying to draw so that I could illustrate my characters. My proportions need work, and I still have difficulty with eyes, but I can do a decent portrayal of what I've thought up.

Take a look at Thalanerus, my PFS elven political historian (Evoker, not Magus).

Do you have a DeviantArt page that I could add to my list of commission artists?

I use DAZ Studio or Poser 3D programs. There is a lot of medieval and fantasy content available. (Learning curve high, I'm OK, but there are some people who create absolutely stunning artwork)

OK...but lets branch you out into Movie Poster Art:

create a movie poster based on this:
Nemesis vs the Mosque
It is 1923. 'The Mosque' is a male only gathering of University intellectuals. The most brilliant male minds in the world. They have decided to create 'the superman'. They have selected a female student at the University to be the mother of the Superman. A woman who will be nothing more than a Womb to grow their 'god' in - a woman they do not consider their equal. By Staging an accident in a science lab she is rendered unconscious and they vaccinate her.

Our Heroine: Patricia Cortes, the top of her class and having just gained the coveted position of lab assistant, believes she will one day make it to a professorship.

Definitely not with that premise. And definitely not for free.

My "range" does not include depictions of forceful impregnation of women to create übermen.

no forced impregnation...she has been vaccinated so her children will be supermen. but the premise of our tale is that she becomes a superhero.

What.
The.
Hell?! O_o;

I can't draw. My artistic talent is in Photography. There is one person that can draw in our group but not likely to draw characters for others. I do like I have done for past PBeM games and used real people and Photoshop to create my characters. They are not perfect, but they are better than nothing.

Some nice landscape art there yellowdingo, I particularly like the building on the hill with a dome-shaped roof (top left).

I used to do art quite avidly when I was younger, back when I used to frequent an anime/games forum but haven't picked up a pencil/stylus since back in 2009... not sure why I stopped, I guess I just lost interest over the time.
I may pick it up again at some point if/when I have less things going on or feel like switching from writing novella to graphic novels.

@Klaus van der Kroft;
Those maps look fantastic, some nice detailing on them
Are you planning on just doing the maps or have you thought about writing up some information about the various regions for building a usable game setting?
I'm sure many people would be keen to explore those lands for an adventure.

Why thank you kindly, Surren.

As for a writeup: Aye, there is a setting behind that map. My current Pathfinder campaign is taking place there (which was the motivation for maping it out in the first place). But the setting itself is an idea that's been brewing for a while, a bunch of ideas that I have yet to tie down.

I do have the itch to create a proper compilation about it, although it kind of clashes with the more traditional style of Pathfinder/D&D. I basically started writing about it after wondering what would happen if Columbus had been wrong and actually had fallen off the edge of the world, and in many ways it's inspired by stuff like The Adventures of the Baron of Münchausen and Gulliver, with talking ships that fly, opera-singing wizards, elephants made from clouds, walking mountains with a taste for tea, seas of wine, giants with severe back problems, cyclopes that require special glasses to see properly, warring nations trapped inside a castle that never stops growing, leviathans with multiple personalities, mustachoid kings trying to conquer the sun, and so on.

It's a bit trippy, I suppose.

Yep. Began with drawing concept sketches for myself and my fellow players, along with drawing maps on graph and hex paper.

In recent years I've been working exclusively with digital media (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesgin), doing mostly painting and cartography. Here's a folder of some of the more recent stuff I've done, including a couple of b&w images I did for the Oerth Journal and some personal projects of mine.

Nope, my best friend is the artist in our group (well, the one who actively draws anything). I stick to miniature painting and some occasional cartography.

I really should draw more often.

Addendum!

This morning I was writing some short fiction to help myself flesh out my work-in-progress setting.

And I ended up turning a look into rites of necromancy into a buddy comedy.

Whoops!

I'm actually thinking about making a comic of it now.

For reference, my art looks like this: Reference Sketch

I dunno how regularly I could punch out pages, though. Depression does a number on me.

If you're up for a commission (presuming any work/con/con-crud related stuff is sufficiently out of the way), sent you a PM =) Or if DevArt would be better than here, that works too.
