Make an interesting / awesome PC backstory (Challenge)!

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

The challenge is to make an interesting/awesome player character backstory fit for use in the Pathfinder RPG. All settings and books are approved for the purposes of this challenge. Please put the backstories in spoiler tags. This challenge is about fun and creativity so make sure you are having fun! :D

If you do not mind i will just dot the thread in case someone post an interesting backstory.

Well you see it all started when....

And then...

Afterwards ...

Finally...

Here's one I posted in a build thread awhile back, but hopefully it gets things started.

Spoiler:
Aristobulos the Unstable is the son of a mediocre wizard and cleric of Desna. His father is a mediocre wizard working for the local government, and his paternal grandfather was an accomplished wizard. His dad's side of the family wanted him to become a wizard, hopefully living up to the standard set by his grandfather (his father is something of a disappointment to his grandfather). His mother is a cleric of Desna, his parents met in their adventuring days. He is a Mystic Theurge, a Divination specialist wizard and cleric of Desna. One of his adventuring goals is to recover his grandfather's travel spellbook, which was left behind on an epic last adventure before retiring. He has erratic visions of the near future. He sometimes casts spells in response to a vision of what will happen in the very near future, and these visions aren't always accurate, thus earning him the nickname "Aristobulos the Unstable."

I will post as Lemtwist to get his take on his background. Several of the local players/GM's here can attest that it is unique.

I haven't played this one yet, but I pre-wrote a flexible character background to use in a future game.

I consider it a 'reformed pirate'. Below is a first person account to his fellow adventuring party members on why he took up a life of an adventurer.

soliloquy in cockney or Irish accent:

It’s about me boy you see. I want to make a loife for ‘im. Roight now he is just a babe at ‘is mother’s teat, an’ I am no use to ‘im naigh, but when he grows a bit I will return and claim my baigh, and will teach ‘im to be a mahn.

An’onest mahn, which I can’t do raisin’ ‘im on a pirate ship, could I?

You see horrible things on such a ship… You do horrible things, too, don’t you?

...Better men den me ‘ave told me I ‘ave a talent... I killed a wizard once, he was an leftenant on some ship we barded, he came out of the foke’suhl and threw a wave of foire at me mates, roasted them alive, he did. Captain said everyone else turned and ran, but I didn’t hesitate, I cut that bastard daigwn.... Capt’un gave me his trinkets, said I had a gods-given talent for killin’....
But I can’t raise my baigh on a pirate ship. But it would be an affront to the gods to not use such a talent if’n oy ‘ave one.

So, ‘ere I am, the only way an’onest man came make a real fortune from killin’, is with a group of piss-crazy ‘venturers, foinding lost magical trinkets and selling them to rich fools what live in castles. I could make enough coin to buy a plot of land, but if I was any good at farmin’ I wouldn’t ‘ave ended up piratin’ in the first place, would I? What I want is to buy enough land that families will have pay me for the roight to work it, and my baigh will grow up proppa, a young lordling, and we can live safe and happy, far from poirates and musty crypts, and foul beasties. So point me at what we needs to kill, ‘cause I’ll kill them all to buy my boy a loife.

Silver Crusade

Non-changeling:
Outside of cities and in the areas that are more wilderness than civilized you will hear stories of how certain Fey or Hags will steal infants and replace them with a fairy or a hag. Like the Cuckoo they trick others into raising their young and like that bird they also usually kill the children they steal. Hags like to make them into a nice roast to be served on a dark night when the coven gets together. Fairies are so strange that infants rarely last long. Redcaps might absentmindedly eat them, nymphs might drown them or fail to care for them properly.

Once in a long while the right kind of Fey steals a child and happens to care for it properly. The child grows up quickly in the strange fairly realms and comes of age much sooner than it would in the normal world. Thanks to the pervasive magic of the fey realms these survivors are often spell casters of some sort. They might even be priests of some god who watched over them in the wilds of the Fey. Those who are not magic users usually have prodigious physical strength or amazingly quick and agile fingers thanks to a magical stream or enchanted fruit.

Why am I telling you this little boy? Because you are the changeling left in my place when your mother stole me from my parents 8 years ago and took me to live in her nightmarish realm. A few months ago I finally escaped and today I'm sending you to hell."

Liberty's Edge

Lawful Evil

[Born in the frozen wastes in the the north in a prison camp with a reputation for housing the most powerful people that run afoul of the tyrant who rules the land.

His parents did not know each other before their brief conjugal visit arranged by the guards for their own perverse amusement.(Insert name here)
grew up with no idea of a world other than beatings, torture and snitching that was part of everyday life in the camp. He betrayed his "mother and brother" over a meal of rice, sending them to their execution, he saw his father as an acquaintance, and they roasted rats together to stay alive.]

Sorry don't know how to do the spoiler.
