Awesome scenario / faction combos

Silver Crusade 1/5 *

What are some scenarios where you really should play a character of a certain faction for whatever reason. It could be something in the story that changes if there is a character of a certain faction present, or it could just be a very funny/memorable faction mission.

Try not to spoil anything about the scenario. Just give the scenario name and the faction.

Unfortunately, I have none to contribute because both of my characters who are beyond level 1 are Silver Crusade.

Silver Crusade 4/5

I'm not sure why people are requesting spoiler tags. Just mentioning a scenario name and faction isn't a spoiler, only if you go into actual detail.

The Disappeared - Silver Crusade mission is hilarious (and rated PG-13, so keep the kiddies away). Also, the Cheliax faction mission is... memorable. And not for the normal reasons that Cheliax faction missions tend to amuse people.

Eyes of the Ten, part 3 - I love the Taldor mission in this one.

City of Strangers - I forget whether it was part 1 or 2, but this is the source of the (in)famous "I do this for Taldor!" line. I don't consider that a spoiler, since I didn't put it in any sort of context.

Sewer Dragons of Absalom - Sczarni has its most memorable faction mission in this one. I'm just surprised more Sczarni missions aren't like this.

The Dalsine Affair - When I GMed this, I actually insisted that a pregen take the Qadira faction mission, just because it's so critical to the overall plot of the scenario.

Cheliax and The Disappeared came to mind first for me, as Fromper just mentioned, with Fortress of the Nail also being fun with a Cheliax-faction character

Silver Crusade 1/5 *

Ohhhhhhh...I might be running The Disappeared next weekend. I hope we have a Cheliax and a Silver Crusade player.

Cheliax in The Citadel of Flame
Shadow Lodge in The Blakros Matrimony
Taldor in The Devil We Know part 1

I have to agree, The Disappeared is much more amusing with a Silver Crusader present.

My group did this faction mission, despite not having a Shadow Lodger present. Actually, it was my Taldan character (CN with a somewhat typical gnome personality) who pushed the most for it.

Good choice! Forgot about that one until you mentioned it.

Actually, I'm not sure why, but I think Taldor in general has more truly amusing faction missions than any other faction.

Silver Crusade has quite a few really boring ones, that are more like generic platitudes than actual missions. I've actually seen "Be nice to strangers", "Don't kill anyone unless you have to", and "Don't let any of your allies die" as Silver Crusade faction missions. Unfortunately, I failed that last one.

It's unfortunate that both characters I've got to play so far are Silver Crusade. I really should have kept my inquisitor as Lantern Lodge when I did a level 1 reroll from a ninja. Especially since I got to play Way of the Kirin on him.

I guess it's also unfortunate that the next character I "had to" play was my paladin, which is also Silver Crusade. I say "had to" because I was playing in a tier 1-2 and the group didn't have a tank yet.

The Sczarni mission for Echoes of the Overwatched was funny.

Aren't The Disappeared and Fortress of the Nail geared toward

Cheliax

Silver Crusade 3/5

Well, going beyond faction missions, I think a Sczarni character would fit into My Enemy's Enemy nicely.

Obvious one's are also those where you get to visit your faction's homeland, such as Lantern Lodge characters in Quest for Perfection or Haunting of Hinojai, Taldor in Decline of Glory, etc. Can't remember about the faction missions in those, though.

I have had more of those "why the heck would they send this character there moments" than "this fits perfectly". Things like a Silver Crusade paladin in Disappeared and No Plunder No Pay. What were the Venture Captains thinking.
