Third Party Rogues Gallery

Product Discussion

Is there, or does anyone know of, a site where there are pre-generated 3PP characters, such as the ones from Super Genius Games or Kobold Press?

Liberty's Edge

No. I've been working on making a few in my what does that class do anyway threads, but I'm only up to 3, and the other classes I am working on are making my head hurt.

I do think something like this would be an awesome idea though and I would happily contribute builds to it if someone did want to organize it.

You mean something like NeoExodus Chronicles: Usual Suspects?

That's a pretty cool looking pdf ya got there... lol

Or you mean something like Faces of the Tarnished Souk?

Or maybe a bunch of 3PPs could get together and make a Rogues Gallery using classes from each of their releases - would showcase the diversity of each class and maybe interest folks in some 3PP goodness.

If costs- and profits-splitting is an issue just divide equally by each NPC. Either that or just give it away free or give the profits to a deserving charity...

RP---sorta but not. Though the "Faces" line is absolutely wonderful. Oceanshield has the idea. It'd be awesome that if every time a 3PP creates a new base or alternative class they would create an example character at say, three levels; 5th, 10th, and 15th levels, for example. I'd love to see statted up versions of the Battle Scion, the Time Thief, or the Medium, just to name a tiny few.

Agreed, Faces rocks! Usual Suspects is also great as a type of NeoExodus NPC-Codex - and at least in my opinion, we could use more of both types of books...

There's also the forthcoming Psionics Embodied by Dreamscarred Press.

4 Winds Fantasy Gaming has released a PDF of NPCs / PreGen PCs, GM's Options.

@DungeonmasterCal:

Are you interested primarily in the stat blocks or in interesting character concepts and background stories? Possibly adventure hooks?

Blood Brethren Games is working on our first product releases for October 1st, but I can squeze in some time to work on a joint 3PP venture if anyone else is interested? That sounds like fun :-)

Stat blocks, mostly. For reasons I won't go into, I have a hard time putting together good NPCs for my games, even though I have plenty of time. I have access to the NPC Codex and some books by 3PP's, but nothing containing some of the very interesting 3pp classes put out by Super Genius, TPK, and others. I can add my own fluff as needed.

Good to hear, End. However, I can state that I'm not enthusiastic about doing anything like Usual Suspects again any time soon. Writing out 57 straight NPC blocks in a row is draining.

We did a time thief in faces,

Faces of the Tarnished Souk: Z.Z. Grimshanks, the Knave of Sharp Seconds

We did a number of third party classes in the series.

I'll take a closer look at the faces line. Granted, I've not seen them all, but I really liked the ones I did. Thanks!

The faces-line is imho right now the best line of NPCs out there - it has raised the bar time and again. Ischadra and Raxath'Viz by TPK Games are also great, though not as complex a build as the Faces-series.

Sovereign Court Publisher, Raging Swan Press

I feel compelled to mention Scions of Evil by Raging Swan Press. It contains 135 stat blocks ranging in CR from 1/4 - 23 and even scores of NPC write-ups. You could run an entire campaign using only the stat blocks in this book!

Oh yeah, Scions is worth every cent at least thrice!!

Every time I see this thread's name I think it's talking about our "Rogue's Gallery" book (which is a rogue support book).

Thank you sir, that is very kind of you to say.
