question about a crossbow spec fighter

Rules Questions

Okay I have a dwarf crossbow fighter in the group. she is wearing light armor and using a heavy crossbow. My question is will she ever be able to fire off more than one bolt when she gets high enuf level or even be able to do more dmg? Was wondering because melee, casters, and even archers are able to fire off more than one attack when they get high enuf level or with feats. Was wondering if there was a way for her using pathfinder rules to be able to atk more than once.

Yes. She will need to take the Crossbow Mastery feat, it will let her reload any crossbow as a free action.

Rapid Reload is sufficient for a light crossbow.

True, but the OP specified heavy.

Ah, they did indeed. In that case, sure, Crossbow Mastery. ... But until you hit BAB +11, it's a questionable investment. I like Vital Strike for the heavy crossbow. You might retrain it out later and maybe look at Critical Focus.

Why BAB 11?

Taking into account that rapid reload is a prerequisite she probably would want crossbow mastery much earlier thatn that.

yeah if she's a fighter you can get it by 6th with ease. Also ranger can get it pretty early as well.

You can get it by 6th, but the main advantage is if you want to scoot and shoot. It's hard to get enough modifiers for one shot at -5 to hit to be equal to +1d10 damage. Once you get to +11, you have +11/+6/+1, which is a lot more interesting from a full attack perspective.

Other good buys might be deadly aim, weapon proficiency heavy repeating crossbow, and rapid shot (to go with the proficiency).

tyvm for the info.
