Treasure and what you can expect to get for it....

Shadow Lodge

Say you enter a hamlet/village/town/city/metropolis with your treaure, what can you expect to get for it?
I know some of this but would like other people thoughts.

Coins: (usually)equivalent value.
Gems: I believe equivalent value.
Not sure on
Jewelry:
Art Objects:
Furs/Pelts/Skins:
Ores:
Live Stock:
Equipemt:
Magic Items:
Special!:

Liberty's Edge

Rule of thumb I always offer half and work from there.

Shops have overheads, taxes, staff, rent, protection, utilities to pay; Adventurer not so much.

The Exchange

I usually assume the gp value listed in the adventure (or that I come up with) is the sell value, not the "asking price" - in other worse, the listed gp value is what the PCs should receive in coinage when they cash it in. In the highly unlikely instance that the PCs are for some reason buying exotic furs or going antiquing, you can apply a mark-up then. Trust me, it comes up a lot less often - you'll save yourself a bundle of senseless percentage-figuring!
