Making a viable Wild Rager?

Advice

I really like the idea of the uncontrollable Berserker, but the DC against his confusion effect just keeps getting too damn high!

Therefore, I was thinking about ways to get of the confusion effect.

So far I have thought about Furious Finish. Edning my Rage after finishing my enemies would prevent me from getting confused. Since Furious Finish depends on Vital Striking however, I cannot use it with "Wild Fighting".

I also searched for ways to get immune to confusion at higher levels, but the only one I found was being a lvl 20 "Enlightend Philosopher-Oracle".

Does anyone have an idea of making a playable Wild Rager, that's more than a 2 level dip?

Dump charisma, boost wisdom, take the Iron Will feat, and try to get cloaks of resistance and headbands of inspired wisdom. Dip into classes that get high will saves.

During combat, focus on moving yourself so that you are within reach of enemies but not allies -- losing control is a less serious problem if you are positioned in that way.

I think the only viable Wild Rager is a 1-2 level dip into the class (as you stated) otherwise the confusion DC's can get pretty silly. Honestly that 1-2 level dip is pretty nice and gets you the flavor you are looking for as a "wild rager." Just go the rest of the way as something like a 2h fighter.

I don't think there is a way to get my Will save high enough. If at least superstition would work against this effect...

I thought about 2handed Figther/Wild Rager too. Maybe a Wild Rager/Viking with the Thunder and Fang feat might be nice, if I wanna keep getting Rage Powers?

Is there no Item that makes me Immune to Confusion? There must be!

I don't believe that there is anything that makes you immune to confusion. You want your cake and you want to eat it too. That'd allow for some insane breaking of the class if there was a free way to get out of the confusion or be immune to it. There is a trait that will up your WILL saves that I don't think was mentioned: Indomitable Faith which adds +1 to ALL Will saves in addition to the Iron Will feat, boosting your Wis, dumping your Cha, and the cloaks of resistance.

One more thing you might want to check out if you are set on going with Wild Rager and if you have a Cleric or Bard in your group is to ask them to pick up the spell Calm Emotions and use it on you if you become confused.

I built out a wild rager/2h fighter with the 2 level dip then using story RP'ing in my game I was able to remove the wild rager archetype to become a vanilla barbarian. I have him build out to 5 barbarian/15 2h fighter and he is currently level 11 and puts out massive damage.

I do like the idea of the 2 level dip into the wild rager and the rest going with the viking archetype of the fighter to increase your rage rounds/powers etc. I've also looked into the Thunder & Fang and thought it was a pretty cool feat allowing you to get the shield bonus, hit with your 2h earth breaker, and then hit with the spiked buckler. I can see it working out pretty nicely for damage and flavor.

Be a wild raging ninja. During normal combats around your allies you can use your wild fighting and ki points to make lots of extra attacks while flanking, sneak attacking, etc. If you get caught alone by enemies you can freak out and go into "Beast Mode" though. Who cares if your rage won't end if there are only bad guys/victims around. Flip out and cut everybody's head off. Uppercut a kid out the window. Seize real ultimate power!
