What monster template would you multiclass in?

Rule would be, that any template, that a humanoid creature can acquire, can be gotten, by simply using a number of levels equal to the X in CR+X with the addition that 3 CR+0 are x=1.

E.g. you are human fighter level 3 and gain level up and instead of picking 4th fighter level you pick advanced creature simple template, to become an advanced human fighter level 3 with effective level 4.

Then, when hitting char level 5, instead of picking fighter lev 4, you are patient and when you get char level 6, you turn into an advanced half-gold dragon human fighter level 3 with char level 6.

What would you multiclass in?

I would just take the class levels. Well the advanced template might be taken, but I would not take any creature templates.

If I had to take a template I might go lich as a caster(not a full caster). I forgot which one it was, but either the half-dragon or half celestial template is not bad for boosting power for martials.

Graveknight gunslinger android, hello robocop.

I forgot about the graveknight. That is a nice template.

Which template is android?

I would take the half-dragon (blue) template as I'm playing a blue heritage Sorcerer 1 / Paladin 2 that is planning on going Dragon Disciple. Maybe then her parents would believe in her...

Android is a race.

Giant would absolutely worth it for melee types.

Cheitan seems pretty awesome for a Vivisectionist (or really anyone) that focuses on natural attacks. Two free slams, extra damage on all natural attacks, perfect flight, and stat buffs. Pretty sweet.

The only issue would be how to handle a template with CR based on HD like that. For example, let's say I am a level 4 Alchemist. I level to 5th and use that level to take the Cheitan template. It's CR +1 for a 4 HD creature, so that works.

Now I level to 6th, and I decide to take Alchemist 5. Unfortunately, that means the CR of Cheitan raises to +2. That means I either cheated the system and got more CR at minimum cost or I need to take another level of Cheitan.

However, if I do that instead of taking the Alchemist level, then I won't have more than 4HD and I'll still only really be CR +1...

So, yeah, this alternate rule is pretty complicated.

I always found that on pretty weak especially compared to advanced. Or maybe i misunderstand, but isnt it only for a greatsword medium fighter a +1 to hit, + 5 dam, -1 ini, +2 AC, + 2 HP per hitdie, +2 fort, +3 CMB,+2CMD?

Advanced would instead give +2 to hit, +3 dam, +2 ini, +4 AC, + 2 HP per die, +2 fort ref will, +2 CMB, + 4 CMD.
edit: ah, i forgot that large size gives 10ft attack range.

The slam attacks would not be in addition to other attacks, cheitan can just use its arms as slam attack.

It was a crazy idea, not a well-thought and balanced rule.

But it seems like it would force the other players to pick undead templates as well, because that concentration check on heal is probably unnerving.

I have not looked at it in a while. I forget everything it does.

After checking-->The check might not be that hard to make. It gets easier as the levels go up.

The concentration DC only goes up every other level. :)

Especially as the CR adjustment is adjusted to how more difficult as an encounter the creature would be, but not adjusted to how much easier it would be for the creature to survive an AP.

e.g. for some chars DR X/-, immune to crit or(!!!!!) fast healing is part of the high level/capstone abilities, but with this version one would get it all with just a two level dip in worm that walks.

just apply both young and advanced templates. CR+0, size reduction, but a +8 to dex, and a +4 to ALL mental scores. I once started a thread on it.

young is especially a joke on incorperal undead, they have neither str nor con. So probably a young ghost or so.

lol, advanced and young. That seems pretty good for a magus.

How about a Baba Yaga's Horseman of Black Night, is a Cavalier Fell Rider, and is a Hobgoblin.

Scarab Sages

I would multiclass into two templates

vampire
