Power Attack w / o prerequisites?

Advice

Is Two-Handed Ranger the only way to get Power Attack without the requisite Strength? I've got a Tiefling Monk -> Duellist build started with crazy high Intimidate that has Str dumped & I'd like to be able to get Cornugon Smash so he can actually make use of the skill.

Belt of Str

I was hoping more for a Monk archetype that I'd overlooked. I'd much rather change my archetype than take a two level dip. A +4 belt of a stat that I've gone out of my way to de-emphasize would be an awfully big expense, especially when he needs to get his Agile Amulet of Mighty Fists ASAP.

+6 belt if strength 7. If you somehow got lower you'd need to use ability increase(s).

Qinggong Monk?

Ask your GM if you can take Piranha Strike and use that for the requirements for Cornugon Smash.

I've always been under the impression that enhancement bonuses do not count towards meeting prerequisites, even when permanent.

Yes they do.

It's not that low; just left it at 10. Lower than that and even a monk might have encumbrance issues.

They do, you just can't use the feat(stack) that they allowed you into if you lose the item.

News to me; every group I've played with (and every CRPG that's implemented 3E rules, for that matter) has ruled otherwise.

It takes extra feats, but you can take:
Weapon Focus (probably already have it), Dazzling Display, Hero's Display, and Performing Combatant

With those feats, you can intimidate everyone within 30' as a swift action.

The Boar Style feats would get me a move action demoralize too; but that chain still seems to need to be erratta'd to make sense.

I may be mistaken, but I think the change might have been implemented in Pathfinder. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong! I didn't have much experience with 3/3.5 before I switched to PF.

Pathfinder feat prerequisites
3.5 feat prerequisites

The phrasing looks the same; the Pathfinder rules are a bit clearer regarding what happens if you lose a prerequisite, but otherwise it looks identicle.

Grand Lodge

It was also in 3.5, since it was frequently used and mentioned in LG & various char op threads.

I hadn't noticed that Qinggong would work. Thanks NV; now all I need to do is get Lone Wolf to get Qinggong working with other archetypes like it's supposed to (and to get feats with a Power Attack pre-requisite to accept the Qinggong ki power as if it were the feat.)

Unfortunately that won't work:

PRD wrote:
Feats: These ki powers duplicate the effects of specific feats. A monk does not need to qualify for a feat to select it as a ki power. For example, a qinggong monk can select Spring Attack as a ki power even if she doesn't meet the prerequisites for selecting Spring Attack as a feat. Activating one of these ki powers is a free action on the monk's turn; until the start of her next turn, the monk is treated as if she had that feat.

You only have the feat for a round at a time. Unless your GM makes an exception, the Qinggong ability will not qualify you for anything with Power Attack as a prerequisite.

Consider putting one point into strength. It is a sacrifice but it means you only need a +2 belt (or an ioun stone) to qualify.
