Playing a campaign where there is a celestial pc, which included the protection from evil" aura.
I'm the rogue of the group, and my alignment is lawful evil.
Now protection from evil (celestial version) says that it provides a +4 bonus to ac against evil "creatures". Would that affect my character?
As a little background to this, the character joined this campaign originally as an assassin sent to kill 2 members of the party, under the mistaken assumption they where a threat to the crown (he works for royalty). After successfully becoming a member of the party, through efforts in assisting them in destroying an evil, he found out that they where on a mission from the gods of which he'd rather not get involved with and was going back to his employer to ask for some direction (the gods don't typically like it when you kill off there factors on earth and my character knows this, so he was kind of wanting to leave them alone till they finished). Anyhow, long story short, my character is about to fight the celestial in an arena, not to kill him, but to prove a point, and to burst the celestials bubble (he's kind of an egotistical ******* of a cavalier, that took the order of the cockatrice path?) and, while I can beat him in a 1 on 1 fight, the aura question kind of got me curious. This is all with the GM's permission and understanding of course.

How do you plan on getting sneak attack against this character in order to beat him in a 1 on 1 fight?
In any event, he will definitely get the +4 bonus to his AC versus you. You should also watch out if he has smite evil.
There are ways to sneak attack someone without having to flank them...the most obvious being feinting in combat, the less obvious using intimidate to demoralize while utilizing the Shatter Defenses feat, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
