Heavy armor + armored kilt +1ac yes or no?

Rules Questions

Title pretty much says it all. i tried to search but all i found was conflicting posts and argueing about that.

the wording also is very unclear. so is there something official on that?

When you add an armored kilt to a suit of light armor, the set counts as medium armor. Likewise, a kilt and medium armor counts as heavy armor. Adding an armored kilt to heavy armor has no effect.

Sounds like a no to me.

well i only saw people arguing over this. mostly the point was that the text only relates to the proficiency increase.

I haven't read the other threads but to me it sounds like it increases the protection of the armor your wearing. The text seems clear that the kilt has no benefit when you're already wearing heavy armor.

I don't see how there can be any question. The last sentence in the description in the Pathfinder chronicles Campaign Setting states: "Adding an armored kilt to heavy armor does not provide an armor bonus increase."

I don't remember any errata to it. And I don't think it was reprinted in Ultimate Equipment or Inner Sea World Guide. So I don't see why it would have changed.

Adding it to Mithral Full Plate is the only thing that seems to be in question.

Especially, Celestial Plate Armor.
