How to complicate the life of a Desna priest

Hi there,

Im looking for advice on how to make a personal quest/twist for my players 17 year old Desna priest playing Rise of the runelords. When im not giving you a whole lot of informations about her its because I want the event to revolve around her faith.

Half elf
Raised in an abbey north of sandpoint
Have no knowlegde of her parent.

I want the quest to happen while the plot of the runelords unfold without hindering the game.

Any ideas?

Tough as Desna has no clerical hierarchy to give orders. The way I would handle this would be to have prominent mention on a shrine wall about a must-see-site, and while there are comments by travelers in the shrine "guest book" saying they are going to the site, there is nothing written travelers who have been to the site.

What is going on at this "must-see-site"? Is it some sort of trap set to lure travelers passing through the shrine? Or is it something that is so amazing that those who go there refuse to sully the experience with an imperfect description?

If you want to tie her backstory into RotR then have her be Shalelu's step-sister.

Say Jakardos abandoned the character at the Abbey as a baby before going off to Fort Rannick. Shalelu knew about the PC, but didn't want to contact her until she'd found their father.
