You might try posting HERE, as well as using the search feature on that page to look for other threads mentioning your area. Also, if memory serves the Guide to Organized Play (a free download on this site, if you don't have it already) includes a list of Venture Captains (regional coordinators, basically) and their contact info. Look up the closest one to you and ask them directly; they'll help you out! :)

If you are willing to play online, there is a very good group of PFS players at PFS Online Collective.

Thanks for joining us at Anime Boston.
The Events Page shows publicly listed events going on around the world.
It looks like there are currently no public PFS events going on in Maine soon. Perhaps online would be the best solution, like Lab Rat posted above. Perhaps if you find a group in your area, you can get a group for PFS together, and get some public events going in your area!

Razzleberry,
The closest public PFS group to you (that I know of) is at Pop Culture in Raymond, NH.
A few years ago someone contacted me about getting race boons and I explained they are usually reserved for GMs at conventions. They were able to talk to the organizers of SnowCon in Orono, ME and got a session listed, but I do not believe they got enough players to run a game. I was thinking about attending SnowCon this past January, but my wife and I had chest colds for most of December and January.
I would like to try for 2014, but it is a long drive from Boston, especially in January.
I suggest that you try to form your own group. You just need 3 players and a GM to run PFS games.
There is an open Venture-Captain position for Maine (possibly two). If you or someone you know might be interested in getting the region up and running, go for it. You can apply here. If the duties asked of a VC are too much, I'd be happy to support a Venture-Lieutenant in Maine as best I could.
I do recommend Online play as a way to learn how PFS works, if no one in your area has experience with it.
If you can travel this summer. There will be a decent size convention, Open Gaming Convention (OGC), in Nashua, NH on July 26-28. You can sign up to play here.
