This legal for rogues in pfs?

Silver Crusade 3/5

I came across this on a website and was wondering if they were pulling their information from some piazo book or rule I don't know about. I thought I'd ask on here to make sure. Can a Rogue in pfs use this:

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/rogue/rogue

for picking a rogue talent and that rogue talent being a ninja trick and that ninja trick being deadly range for 10 feet? Reason I'm also asking is if this is possible then wouldnt a sniper rogue at third level be allowed to have ranged sneak attack of 20 feet and not 10feet, since the deadly range adds 10 feet range to sneak attack and 3rd level sniper adds a natural 10 feet to range sneak attacks for a total of 20 feet ranged sneak attack?

The pfsrd is a controlled page, you should invariably be able to trust the content therein. Being able to pick a ninja trick is a viable rogue talent in Ultimate Combat, I believe, but I think you should read up again on the rules about ranged sneak attack.

Silver Crusade 3/5

Where can I find the rules for ranged sneak attacks at?

Silver Crusade 3/5

Under the rogue it says that ranged attacks can count as sneak attacks only if they are within 30 feet. This is the same wording for ninja and the deadly range ninja trick stacks to extend the 30 feet by an extra plus 10 feet for each time you pick deadly range. So we know the range can be extended that way but now we need to know if this stacks with the sniper's Deadly Range they get at 3rd level, which I'm thinking is the same thing as the ninja's Deadly Range so I would think they stack.

This post probably should be in the PFS section

Whats the link to that forum?

I don't see anything preventing a rogue from taking the Deadly Range ninja trick, and it should stack with the Deadly Range class feature of the Sniper archetype.

Granted, in order to qualify as a sneak attack, the target sill needs to be denied its Dex bonus to AC, regardless of how far away you can make sneak attacks.

To do that you need to go by a roundabout way:

Take the Ninja Trick rogue talent, then take Deadly Range. done that way you should be totally FPS compliant.

(it is in Ultimate combat, under Archetypes -> Rogue)

Here's the PFS section.

They stack. Both increase the current ranged sneak attack distance.

This is a rules question, so it belongs in the rules forum. With few exceptions, PFS follows the rules.

Fair point but PFS has enough specific rules that are different that the distinction is important. Besides, if the original poster even titled the thread'Is this legal for PFS?' It seems pretty obvious it should be in the PFS forum

Marc whenever a rules question is put in PFS they move it to the rules forum. It is not against PFS rules unless PFS has a specific rule against it, and for this combo there is not one.

Just remember you can only take the Ninja Trick rogue talent once.

Benefit: A rogue with this talent can choose a trick from the ninja trick list. The rogue can choose but cannot use talents that require ki points, unless she has a ki pool.

Special: A rogue can pick this talent more than once.
