Barbarian Fast Movement in heavy armor

Advice

Is there a feat or something that will allow a barbarian to retain his fast movement ability if he\she is wearing heavy armor? I have a fighter\barbarian and I want the extra armor for livability but don't want to lose the fast movement if possible. I haven't seen a feat yet but I know I haven't seen everything there is.

Armored Hulk

Edit: Or, if you prefer, making your armor with mithral will knock it back down into the medium range giving you fast movement back.

A feat? Not that I'm aware of. Have you looked at this archetype?

EDIT: 15 second ninja'd.

I hadn't seen that, while its cool I don't think it's up my characters alley. I only really have one level of barbarian and kinda wanna keep it that way. So I was hoping to take a feat using the millions of fighter feats I get to off set the loss of fast movement when I get some full plate.

Hadn't considered that. Not a bad idea.

Yeah, Xallin's edit is probably your best bet. After all- gold is easier to come by and replace than feats, even for a fighter.

I'd suggest you go 2 levels in barbarian anyhow, then you get one rage power on top of the fast movement in heavy armor. I actually have a barbarian/fighter who I have planned out to 20th level who is 5 barbarian/15 two-handed fighter which does massive damage and spring attacks around the battlefield. I'm not sure why you only want 1 level of barbarian especially when you titled your thread with the barbarian moving fast in heavy armor, which will attract people to give you actual barbarian builds rather than barbarian 1/fighter 19 builds.

The two levels in Barbarian also opens up "Extra Rage Power" as a take-able feat.

Yep! I like barbarian/fighter builds as they mesh really nicely together and even if you are 2 levels of barbarian, you still have rage and can pick up rage powers, thus still calling yourself a barbarian. It's about the fluff and flavor you give your own PC at that point rather than what your actual classes are.

The Exchange

Don't 12 levels of fighter allow unimpeded movement in heavy armor? Admittedly, that's a long way to go for one benefit...

The barbarian level was mainly for fluff, but i see your point 2 levels make a lot of sense.

@ Lincoln Hills: yes, Armor Training allows you to move normally in Medium and (later) Heavy armor but he won't enjoy the benefits of Fast Movement while wearing Heavy armor unless it counts as Medium (or lighter, somehow).
