Alchemist - Ability damage

From ending the effects of a cognatogen (but oddly enough, not a mutagen)
From infusing a mutagen/cognatogen
When/how does he repair/recover from that damage?

Ability Damage and Drain (Ex or Su)

Some attacks or special abilities cause ability damage or drain, reducing the designated ability score by the listed amount. Ability damage can be healed naturally. Ability drain is permanent and can only be restored through magic.

Ability damage can be healed while you're doing anything else at a rate of 1/day I believe. Or a lesser restoration should work as well if you want something quicker.

Thanks, though that's gonna get rough with the cognatogen. Ten minutes of use and two ranks of ability damage every time.

This is a very specific case, and so may not help you, but an Elf Alchemist with the Attuned to the Wild feat heals double in a specific terrain. That's what I used for my Mindchemist. I'm sure there are other ways.

It is rough with the cognatogen at early levels. Eventually you'll have enough 2nd level slots that you can use lesser restoration and still have slots for alchemical allocation.

A wand of lesser restoration made by a paladin is only 750 gp. Would be worth trying to acquire such a wand if you plan to use cognatogen.
