Ahaha, cheers to Silas for makin' me laugh. 'That you, Abby?'

I've never been so "spoiled" as the past few days' worth of posts!! You guys are playing it perfectly - and thanks to Silas for the completely unexpected, and almost game-changing, drunken show of bravery/curiosity/stupidity =)

This got me as well! XD

Poor Grizelda, however, would be alternately mortified and slightly flattered, most likely. ^_~

Just out of curiosity, am I the only female Player in this party as well?

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16

Nope! Girl here.

Female Human Conjurer-4 | AC:13(17 w/MA) T:13 FF:10 |HP 27/31 (4d6)+10 | F +2 R +4 W +5 | Init +8 | Perc +10/+7

Yay! I'm so often the only one! ^_^ *girl-gamer high-five*

*pew-pew high fivery!* Also my girly spider-sense might be tingling with regards to Abby-- but it could be a male player who is just doing a good job with a female character. :P

My money is on Abby as a female player, based on the initial posts in Daggermark and in the swamp!! Having three female players (and your corresponding characters) is another reason why this game flows so well!!

And, in the interest of full disclosure - Grizelda (Bluedove) and I are currently playing in another game, and Zinny (dien) and I are both trying to get into a game (Rhanloi the half-elf wizard in case you didn't figure that out already =)

Always fun to run into each other's alternate egos out there!

Ha, I thought the name pinged a familiar bell. Well, good luck to you in that flood of applicants. :)

If anyone's ever been curious about the definition of "tone" in adventures, compare the carnage of Cromm's Hold to this whimsical winefield romp. The distinction is amusing to me!

HP: 41, Initiative: +2, Perception: +8, Sense Motive: +1, AC: 21 (T: 12, FF: 19), CMD: 20, Fort: 8, Refl: 2, Will: 5

With goblins and what I expect is pixies as the antagonists, its practically impossible for the tone to be anything but comical, even when battle starts!

Also, in helping a friend make an Urban Barbarian the other day, ive realized Hugo cant even use Medium armor...so, yeah. The idea was to possibly snag a Cleric level or three for Hugo or possibly Fighter. Either way id start at level 3. DM verdict on a possible "free" medium proficiency untill that time?

Also, three female players?! Never seen one before, and here theres three! Female players are like Unicorns apparently. Once you actually find one, theres usually a few of them sharing the same grove ;)

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16

I've got a fair number of female players in my local area-- nothing quite like equal numbers to the guys, but, my local PFS has 3-4 other women besides myself, and of my home games, one (which I GM) has a 50/50 gender balance on the players; another that I GM has 1 gal, 3 guys.

I think part of it is that my FLGS is run by a husband and wife couple and the wife does a lot to encourage an atmosphere where female gamers feel welcome and encouraged to play.

Skull & Shackles Map Female Human Pathfinder Society GM Hell's Vengeance Map

I'd have to drive 100 miles to reach a PFS event, but most women players I know are married to a man that plays. I'm the only one I know of that is dragging her guy along for the ride, lol!

The only players I know personally are 30-40's couples with kids and it ends up being a family get-together, possibly with kids running PC's too. But I'm finding those groups are REALLY hard to coordinate since so many of us have conflicting/busy schedules. At this point, I'm grooming my son to GM just so I can play! XD

But I'm liking the PbP format, so maybe I've found my niche. ^_^

I hear you all about the survival check...the adventure sheet I'm using swish you should not be ale to track the goblins the first day...and this same event has happened every night for a week now. So its not that you can't find the wheel track...it's mord like not knowing which one to follow. And if the rules say you can only track Dc 10 or less untrained, then why bother if you just Take 10?

Either way...you're ok =)

Oh...and its nice to see the dice continuing to remind you of your ordinariness!!

OK Abi - spill. Where did you get that Sylvan stuff for your post? Urdu? Bangladeshi? Thai? Interested for future use!!

Talking to fairies just makes Abigial even more like a Disney princess. I'm hoping for a couple of levels of bard so she can start singing with the local wildlife.

Silas is slowly but surely evolving from 'creepy priest' to 'nice guy adventurer.' Soon, Hugo will be a horse and then we can all recreate Tangled.

I considered Bard, but I'd rather stay Cleric. I have a +6 to Perform (sing), though, if you want some showtunes.

By the very association, now I cant think of Abi and Silas looking like anything but those two characters (princess post hair cut obviously)

Bards are my favorite class. And I like creepy! I play a bard who is a serial killer. If you look at the bard spell list sometime, there are so many scary serial killer spells.

Like Forced Quiet. (Just try to scream.)
Charm Person. (You can trust me.)
Touch of Gracelessness. (You can't run from me.)
Hold Person. (Shhh. Just hold still. Everything's going to be all right.)

Silas likes creepy? Never woulda guessed it (yea, right!!) From a role-playing perspective, though, you certainly add a unique flair to the group!! I was wondering if you were going to be voted off the island after the swamp adventure, though. I put your chance of survival pretty low, actually! Nice to see you're still with us. 8P

Are you opposed to a bit of divine intervention with your character one day? I have a plan for you (MWUHAHAHA!!!)

Male Human Rogue (Charlatan) 3 AC 15 T 12 FF 13 | HP 24/24/d8 | F +1 R +5 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +6

Silas is as ordinary as ordinary can be, I think, right down to being more self-centered than adventurous or heroic. The build is pretty awful for combat, but decent in social RP, which was the intent. You'll notice that I intentionally manufacture my own motivations, ones that have me doing the "right thing" (or at least not being a detriment to the party), but possibly for some circumspect reasons.

I have no opposition to divine intervention. Silas brings others to the light often enough that it is a wonder he's blind to it himself. (None are as blind as those who will not see.)

Abby's definitely got the charm of a Disney Princess! She'll be singing the bluebirds down from the trees in no time. ^_^

And day'um, Silas... that is creepy. I'm going to have some sort of weird Sweeny Toddish dream now starring Dexter as the bloody bard. >_<

For character progression/levels, you can take them where you wish - if it fits the story and makes sense. Where do you acquire the training/skills for that class? How would Hugo get archetype rogue or cleric training? I'm not against it, but it must flow with the story, the character, the town. Don't go all hog wild on feats and skills, either! 8P

And don't worry, Hugo. The gods have noticed your small group of common, but brave, friends. Can't wait to keep this going - bit by bit - step by step. I'll continue to throw fun little bennies in here and there =)

Let me know if you are acquiring any additional gear, and summarize your new skills, feats, where you put your ability point, etc. in a post here when you're done.

F Human Fighter 4 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | HP 31/35 | F +5 R +2 W +2 | Init +1 | Perc +2

Zinny's ability point went into her Charisma, to reflect she's getting a little more confidence in herself... it's still below average, as she has a ways to go towards being her own person, but the adventuring is showing her a world beyond just doing chores for her mother forever, so it's nice to get to reflect that statistically!

Feat gained Power Attack
Skills gained Handle Animal and Ride, since she had to use both of those on the horses on the way to and from the vineyard, Kn: Engineering, and Survival.

The faerie dragon promises to be lots of fun. :D

Just 30gp as loot, right? I'm not sure if there's anything I want to buy for Zinny with that. She'll put it in a sock for a rainy day. :P

Zinny keeps her spare gold in a sock? Thats...I wanna say odd, but not sure.

Also, lol at the Large joke. I wouldnt even have made that connection. As a man I almost feel ashamed I didnt O.o

As for level up:

Rage Power = Swift Foot, the only one that didnt seem odd based on Hugos experience (Although im eyeing Lesser Celestial Totem)

Skills = Ranks in Craft(Armor), Climb and Perception. Favoured Class bonus this level went into HP

Stat Increase = Wisdom. Hugo hasnt done much to warrant any physical stat increases, and Wisdom is the only one that makes sense to me of the mental stats.

Regarding the Inquisitor levels, im not personally completely sold on it myself yet. Id be playing it mostly like Hugo attracting a sliver of Gorums power to him, without Hugo himself actually realizing it. Id pick spells like True Strike and Expeditious Retreat fx. As for skills, does the number he gets really matter, as long as he doesnt pick skills that dont make sense?

F Human Fighter 4 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | HP 31/35 | F +5 R +2 W +2 | Init +1 | Perc +2

I blame another game I was in where a fellow kept making jokes about his Metamagic Rod of Enlarging. *facepalm*

Oh, yeah, favored class bonus will always be going into skills for Zinny, for the record. I can't stand having so few skills, which is why I almost never play clerics, and fighters are barely a notch above that.

Grand Lodge

Female Human Cleric 3; HP 21/21, AC 17, touch 13, flat-footed 14; Fort +3, Ref +3, Will +5; Perception +2, Initiative +6

I took a rank in Knowledge (religion) to back up Abigail's growing religiosity. Her stat point went into Dexterity-- Riding horses, running through swamps, chasing leprechauns, chasing children, all Dex based activities.

As her stats go up I'd like to put more into Intelligence and then take Weapon Finesse, but first I'd have to actually have a chance to use my rapier. :P

I know right?! Its too bad too, because I really like the Cleric but between the need for Charisma, Wisdom and Con, followed by a touch of Str and Dex for the armor, ive never been able to make a build where dumping int wasnt needed : /

Then the Inquisitor comes along and is all "look at me, aint I a sexy b~*%*?"

Its half the reason Hugo ended up being a Barbarian :O

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16

Cloistered Cleric is the way around the skill thing, but so far I've instead made Dex-heavy/ranged clerics, so that I can at least keep Int at a 10 rather than dumping it down to an 8....

Weapon Finesse sounds fun for Abby. :D Swashbucklin' cleric.

HP: 41, Initiative: +2, Perception: +8, Sense Motive: +1, AC: 21 (T: 12, FF: 19), CMD: 20, Fort: 8, Refl: 2, Will: 5

While its flavourful, Cloistered Cleric is just kinda bad, and doesnt even fit well for the usual high adventure...if I was ever gonna do one it would probably have been in a setting like this one.

Adding Swashbucklin to anything makes it atleast 20% cooler? Just be sure to keep it fresh so the enemies dont catch on to what you are doing and counter you. Sometimes ya gotta buckle before ya swash, keep em on their toes.

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16

IDK about it being so bad, I was playing in a Serpent's Skull AP with a guy doing the CC and he pulled our butts out of crisis more times than I can count. Maybe in comparison to another cleric build it's not so great? but I certainly didn't notice any drawbacks with it in play.

Male Human Barbarian 2 (Urban), Fighter 2

Eeeh, as a full caster it cant ever really be "bad" in comparison to anything without full caster progression. Im just violently allergic to losing domains, because my ideal cleric would snag an inquisition for some Wisdom based social skills.

Really as long as you stick a good amount of points into Wisdom you are golden :)

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16

We were playing in a really tight 3-person party-- I had barbarian handling all the melee, we had a sorc, and we had the cleric. So the cleric really filled a gap on the knowledge skills. But yeah, just speaking generally, I love domain powers too. :D

When I get home I'll be punching up my Herolab to level. I foresee a rogue talent that allows me to use roll twice when making a bluff check and take the higher result, or possibly one that substitutes Diplomacy/Intimidate checks with bluff rolls. And a point in Dex for mostly the same reasons as Abi.

New discovery will be Infusion (yay for clw potions), new formulae is blend. And I invested my free stat point in constitution. All this trecking is renewing Doc's vigor. I have also decided to start spltting skill points between survival and sneak (the idea at character creation was that he used to sneak into the basement). I figure, all this time in the woods, I've got to be starting to pick up a little of knowledge on this

In addition, I think I'll be picking up Knowledge (Nature). It seems to be a major oversight that a priest of Erastil doesn't know anything about nature, so Brother Silas is actually going to be spending time with farmers in our downtime! Maybe revisiting the vineyard a few times.
