As the title asks. The tier 2 Divine Boon for Evangelists of Lamashtu seems extremely powerful and awesome for summoners. However, before I commit to building a summoner going towards evangelist of lamashtu, I must ask, is losing one level of Ediolon progression just too big of a drawback for everything evangelist provides. Granted, my edilon will be one level behind, but I get a pile of abilities, tons more skills for my summoner and a powerful, free evolution for my ediolon. However, despite all that, is losing one level of summoner progression too damaging or will I still be effective despite the one level lost in my summoner/ediolon progression, especially considering all I get from the class. Any thoughts/opinions would be appreciated.

An evil campaign, obviously. I'm going to be doing an evil run of an altered version of the Kingmaker campaign soon and I thought it would be fun to make a debauched, disturbed character who would be involved with demonic influences and other foul things like that. The campaign, admittedly, is going to touch on some pretty -dark- and touchy issues, with the anti-Paladin in particular being extra heinous. Saying why, however, is not something I wish to share on these forums as that player's character concept disturbed even me, and thats saying something.
Also, nothing about Lamashtu's obedience says the unwilling creature has to be a humanoid or have humanoid intelligence. Therefore, by the wording animals are fair game....so even if this was for a mixed-alignment party as long as you limit the obedience to animal sacrifice you should be able to get away with it as long as none of the non-evil party members are good. Yes, you will likely disturb the heck out all your netural party members and you better pray there is no druids, hunters, rangers or divine casters devoted to nature or a god of nature in your party, but so long as no tree-huggers are present and the animal you sacrifice is sufficiently pretty and/or cute and fluffy(I can't see a lamashtu worshiper willingly sacrificing a more foul animal), the obedience could still be maintained in a mostly neutral party. If there is a good character though, yeah, it would likely be impossible even the most urban of good-aligned people would be sickened by such blatant animal abuse.

Frankly, I would just as soon spend the 3 evolution points for Frightful Presence instead. You are already sacrificing a summoner level and a feat, each of which could have netted you one extra evolution point (at least). Given the other benefits to your eidolon of that missing summoner level, I would rather just spend that extra evolution point if I really wanted to bother with that evolution.
The main reason I wouldn't bother is that the save DC of this ability is based on the reduced hit dice and mediocre charisma of the eidolon, so odds are good that your targets can save against the effect.
