A player in my group has asked me a question about his Cavalier to which I am not entirely certain about. Soon, he will reach level 7 and he will change his mount to a Lion (Because at level 5, the Big Cat is not large enough to ride).
Up until now, he has been using a lance to charge opponents on a horse for crazy amounts of damage. One of the reasons he picked a Lion is that when it charges, it also gets to Pounce on the enemy (beyond the fact it might be one of the most metal things ever done).
But the problem is, a Lance has reach. We discussed the scenario and I wanted to toss it out to you folks to see whats correct.
Scenario A: When the Cavalier charges on his Lion, he can either use his Lance (and not his Lion's Pounce) or his Lion's Pounce (but not his lance and instead a regular melee weapon).
Scenario B: When the Cavalier charges, he first makes his lance attack, then moves the Lion forward a space (because it is the Lion's movement, not the Cavaliers) and makes the pounce attack.
Scenario C: Something I didn't think of.
