Dudes! Shut up and give them your money!
Shadow of the Eternals website!
Shadow of the Eternals crowdfunding campaign video!
Let's make this thing happen!
If you ever played Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, you know, without any further words, why you must fund this thing.
If you haven't: frankly, it's the best "survival horror" game I've ever played or seen ever (including watching Lotus Prince's Let's Play videos). It's amazing, engaging, and if you love survival horror games, you will love this game; but if you hate survival horror games, you will love this game.
It has Cthulu-esque elements and treats the style properly, but in such a way that it won't turn off those who hate Cthulu-type stuff (there is no actual Cthulu, for the curious).
Give them money. Please. Please give them money. This needs to happen. For the sake of humanity and video games at large, this needs to be a resoundingly stupid success.

Gonna jump in on this and roll around in it. :D
I will never forget a friend sheepishly telling me that he somehow accidentally erased all of my save data while playing the game for a bit. :)
That... was one of the best/most terrifying things.
(No, I'm pretty sure I'm not that friend, but you know.)

I just remembered how awesome the final battle really was.
Sure, it wasn't the most difficult fight in videogame history. But man did it make you feel good.
Then I saw where it was going and I was all like "@#$% YES. LET'S DO THIS THING."
Cathartic as hell. :)

Cathartic as hell. :)
Oh, wow, yeah, that fight still ranks up in my "number one moments" of all video games.
It pretty much made everything you'd gone through up until that point worth it. EVERYTHING. And considering the emotional roller coaster you went through up until that point... that's really hard to do.
Sorry for the ugly post. Using the iPad right now and formatting is haaaaaaaarrrrd.... :)

One memory:
Me - *staring at the screen, breathing hard, clenching controller*
Apartment owner - *walks back in after missing some gameplay, looks at me* What happened?
Me - The blonde...f%**ing...shot me...
HAHAH! Oh, wow, yeah! That one was amazing!
Or...
Or when it just muted itself... while I was right next to some Trappers. So. Very. Nervewracking.
Oh, man, that game.
I'm still amazed at how many new effects I still find, regardless of the number of times I've played that game.
By the way, in my earlier post, behind the spoilers, it was supposed to be "Alex as" not "Alexa's". I... don't know why my iPad did that.

Cheapy wrote:Maybe if they hadn't included that tub scene in the first one...Having our friends play right up until the tub scene was something of a spectator sport in college.
A friend pulled this on me. I later got him back. Let's just say it involved "Pizza" and "lots of peppers painstakingly removed". Man, I love that guy and am so thankful that he introduced me to the game. :)

So uh...some bad news.
So regardless of whether or not McCulloch is convicted, he's already treated as a criminal? When is this witch-hunt climate going to end...

I read the article on MCVUK, so I am not sure how the story differs. It sounds like the authorities executed a search warrant and found child porn in the house. In the legal system, innocence is presumed. However, Precursor Games has to look at the writing on the wall. The police found child porn during the execution of a search warrant as part of an ongoing two-month-long investigation. He is being charged with not only possession, but also making it available. Unless the defense comes up with some extraordinary explanation, it looks really bad. Damage control must begin immediately if they want to save their small company. (Small being relative to the video game industry.) Thus they distanced themselves immediately. If the evidence was more circumstantial, Precursor might have stood by their man. But that is speculation.
Now, if it turns out that such an extraordinary explanation exists and Ken McCulloch is innocent, Precursor can issue an apology. Ken probably can’t seek legal recourse, as most companies have clauses in employment contracts about the image and conduct of its officers; merely being charged with a serious crime, regardless of guilt, can be grounds for termination. Regardless, all of it will be forgotten over time.
It sucks, but that is the way of business.
