Only one week before release, if i'm right. Then have to wait for delivery.

The Japanese site got and update; all the "How to Play" areas are up.

Wow, that IGN live stream is freaking awesome.

As much as I'd like to see it, I want to preserve the surprise for next Tuesday.

I found out recently that one of the bosses in this game is a killer white rabbit.

If you have to get a hand grenade from a priest in town to take it out, its a first day buy for me.

I'll have to wait for shipment after once it is released next Tuesday....hope it'll be fast.

No, but you will wish you had that hand grenade.

Just one more week to go.

Got a good review at IGN.

I can't believe the campaign is freaking 15-20 hours long!

And that's just using one Character.

Silver Crusade

Just preordered it, I waited until the first reviews were out, but after the destructoid review I just had to. The waiting will kill me (shipping to germany takes some time even if you choose the expensive shipping option).

Normally i'ld say 20 hours for a campaign are freaking short, but will have to try several char.

15-20 hours is good even with one character for this kind of combat style game.

I bought Chronicles of Mystara from the PS3 store, which is arguably the closest thing to Dragon's Crown at the moment. That has quite a bit of replayability especially if you're trying to unlock everything, but it doesn't even last half as long as Dragon's Crown purportedly does.

Wow, there are youtube videos showing that you can fondle characters you meet.

scantily clad woman
loincloth clad barbarian
goblin?!

Got any links?

Equal opportunity groping?

That is both funny and disturbing.

Looks like the Dwarf is a min-max character, and the Elf is balanced,
And looks like this is also true with Fighter and Amazon as well.

What stat is MGR? It is obvious it is an important one for casters, but i've not been able to get what it stands for.

Magic Resistance?

It is Magic Resistance.

Tomorrow....at last the day has come.
Pity since it is holiday time the shipping to italy will take more than one month, maybe longer :(

Grand Lodge

Any know if it will be available from PS3 store tommorow?

Yup. It'll be on PSN tomorrow.

Just came back from picking up my copy at GameStop. I had to remind the clerk about the artbook and apparently they only got one. Thankfully, I picked it up when I did, but the back corner was bent. Ugh. Anyhow, I am happy to report that Dragon's Crown comes with an actual manual (not just a stupid sheet that gives you a website) and it's in full color as well(!).

Freaking sweet, I hate games (disk copies) that don't have a physical manual with them.
I hate having to look them up and download them from somewhere.

I got my copy in the mail an hour ago, and My art book has a bent corner on the front cover. Arg.

I know. I've had a cow the first time I bought a brand new game and got just a sheet in there. So, I'm pleasantly surprised with the game, especially since I didn't follow IGN's coverage. Though my minor gripe would be the naming of the NPCs you resurrect. 'Kevin' the Wizard? Really?

Already had a memorable moment surviving the wyvern with 3 hp remaining. lol.

I'm going to need to wait until after work before I get to play it.

I'm not sure if I'm going to able to play more than the hour I already put in. Babysitting on top of game night makes things a little complicated.

Thanks, Signore di Fortuna and Azure Zero. Now i'm more envious than ever.
Hell knows when i'll get to grab my copy.
On the bright side, i don't have to babysit anyone.....have four dogs however.

Aw, sorry. But feel better for eventually owning a physical copy. In this case, it actually beats a digital download.

It appears there will be DLC eventually, but thankfully no Day 1 stuff.

There is one Day 1 DLC, Dragon's Crown™ Storyteller Voice Pack and it's free.

Silver Crusade

It's certainly vibrant and technically impressive. If anything it makes me even more befuddled why we don't see this sort of effort being put into more 2D games.(looking at you Konami) Man, we've come a long way since the days when parallax scrolling was cutting edge.

Those looking for a current generation Tower of Doom/Shadows over Mystara are going to find a much more fleshed out game here, if the first few hours are anything to go by.

It's really personally frustrating to have a 2D game made with this much love and detail and not having much in the way of options that appeal to you. I'm not going to get into the fanservice debate, but right now the only two characters that don't put me off aesthetically to some degree or another are the Wizard and the Elf(and yet I'm still playing the Amazon, because Barbarian and I want to see how War Paint works).

I don't know the context for this character, but after looking through a friend's artbook, I really wish that "Female Warrior Monk" design was a playable option.(seriously, it's a cooler character design than most of the playable characters. Why not have that as an option?) And that the Amazon's lower half was more Chun-Li and less four-Chun-Li's-glued-together.

It's really fun to have a whole party put together with all the adventurers you can bring back to life. They seem to be pretty dumb when it comes to traps whenever anything edible is placed nearby. I'm not sure if they actually level up eventually or if they stay at the level they are when you get them.

For those worried about Durability being a factor in the game, it doesn't seem all that harsh so far. It's been pretty cheap to keep up with at least.

Seriously, that animation quality. If you know the "cheats" to look out for, you could spot them, but if you just let your eyes ease up and take it in, it really works well.

That background clicking feature is going to give me OCD I swear...

edit-@#$% that wyvern and his crew.

edit2-You can't pause the game. >:(

My resurrected buddies never leveled, but my thieving companion is like 3 levels higher than I am. I don't know whether to be pleased or angry at not being able to play online right off the bat. I'm not much of a social butterfly (what's the opposite of that? antisocial aardvark? whatever, I'm one of those.) so I guess it's a blessing. It also reduces the "OMG, I'm dragging a noob around!" moments. I went to the playstation store option on the game but nothing turned up, so I didn't think there was Day 1 DLC. Thanks for finding that out, A_Z. I was hoping to unlock a new storyteller. The droll English accent kinda gets old after an hour or so.

@Mikaze
Wait til you go up against the Vampires, it's much worse.
and I agree the background clicking feature will give you a OCD.

Okay, I did get the storyteller pack right out of the game, so it must have been put up between when I started and now ;)

@Signore di Fortuna
Don't worry your not the only one that's the opposite of a social butterfly.

Count me in.

Edit: i just received a mail from Amazon. They say the package has been shipped and should arrive here before this weekend :)
I surely do hope so.

Totally got my wife to play tonight. I'm sticking with my original fighter and she made an amazon. I have missed good local co-op.

I got my game yesterday at around 2:00pm but had to got to work at 3:00pm. I got to play for a couple hours last night before I go to work today at 9:00pm. I really like the game though the only character I have played as is the Sorceress. The only character design I really do not like is the wizard. So far I have only beaten the first 3 levels and was having too much fun playing in those early levels. If I remember correctly I am level 11 and it is weird that those extra characters do not level but the thief does. I can't wait to play this game later today.

Having seen some gameplay videos, I wonder if WotC is going to sue Vanilla because of the monsters, especially the Beholder.

I think Vanilla-ware used "Eye-tyrant" which WotC can't sue for use either because they don't own it, or it is content made with an agreement where it is open to use.
And most monsters in Dragon's Crown are public domain.

He's Legend of Iya which also goes into the platformer/combat as Dragon's Crown.

There is a Beholder-like monster in Dragon's Dogma too, one of the bosses of the Everfall dungeon, and as far as i know WotC didn't try to sue that either.

Some of the "Quests" you get from the guild require checking the area for secrets, scene checking with the cursor, and or following instructions to the letter.
The Hell Hound one requires getting bit, so try to do the level without allies, (and it's a hard).

So the delivery of my copy was scheduled for August the 8th (yes, today).
I was tracking the package and it was in Cattolica around 10:27 AM.....now i don't know how much you know of Italy, but Cattolica is about 5-7 minutes away from my home, by car.
You think it got here in the whole day (writing this about 12 hours later)? NO :(

This will make you laugh : some years ago a friend of mine ordered two minis online, one of the sellers was in New Zealand, the other one in Genova (so same nation). The shipment from NZ arrived in less then 2 days......the one from Genova took more than 6 months.

Holy crap, one of the developers must of loved monty python and the holy grail.
Because there is a smaller killer white rabbit as a Boss and it's vicious as hell.
Expect every character to die at least once on your first go at the rabbit.
