Is it worth taking an dangerously curious (which provides a +1 to umd and makes it a class skill) then putting ranks in umd? Or should I not bother? There will be a bard in my party so he will most likely have it covered, and I am planning on taking the dragon faerie as an improved familiar at level 7 which I think (not to sure but saw it discussed on a couple forums) can use wands like a sorceror because they cast like a sorceror. Is this true?
Also, if I do not take dangerously curious, which other traits should I take? I will be playing an elf wizard with a 2 trait allowance and I have chosen desperate focus as my first trait.

Reactionary (combat trait)/Warrior Of Old (race trait) give +2 trait bonus to initiative - picking either is a good option if you don't know what to get.
Dangerously curious might be useful, depending on future availability of items belonging to other classes - it's always safer to have at least two party members capable of activating exotic magic items than one (because sometimes the exotic item might be a clerical hea or resurrection scroll that needs to be used on the other UMD-knowing character).
